🇬🇪 Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, speaking at the World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg, said that the country is disappointed that Moldova and Ukraine received the status of a candidate for EU membership, and Georgia is considered only as a prospect.

"We are so European and have been for so long that at some point we have to join this European family. I think that we should not waste time today. Georgia needs a candidate status", she said.
🇬🇪🇪🇺 The European Commission will consider granting Georgia the status of an EU candidate country no earlier than 2023. The agency is preparing a report on how the 12 priorities assigned to Georgia will be fulfilled.

❗️Unrest in the largest opposition party, the United National Movement: some members demanded the election of a new chairman and the reorganization of the party.

According to several prominent members of the organization, “We need to elect a new leader and strengthen intra-party democracy by holding intra-party elections at all levels. The chairman must have the support of hundreds of thousands party members so that new plans and energy for the struggle for the freedom of the motherland appear".
According to the results of recent polls, the rating of the United National Movement party has fallen to a critical 12%. In the 2020 Georgian parliamentary elections, the coalition around the UNM won 36 seats, gaining 27% of the vote. 🙈 The Russian who insulted Georgians in Tbilisi is the son of an oligarch close to Putin.

The incident took place in the capital on November 5 and was filmed. On Marjanishvili Square, a man shouted obscene language in Russian against Georgians and the country. He was detained in an administrative order with charges of petty hooliganism and disobedience to representatives of the law, but he was released soon.
ℹ️ Pavel Kopylkov is the son of 53-year-old Alexander Kopylkov, who is known to be a Russian businessman and co-founder of one of the largest Russian construction companies MIC. The latter is known for its participation in government contracts for the Russian army with the financing of Russian military campaigns in Syria, Crimea, and now in Ukraine, as well as cooperation with other oligarchs.
👮🏻‍♂️ The leaders of the opposition parties have already demanded that the Georgian Interior Ministry should deport Kopylkov or take criminal measures against him.

🏡 Household issues in Tbilisi on a personal example. Part 2 - housing rent and utility bills.

We have been renting a three-room apartment of 90 sq.m. for more than a year and a half. It is located in the center of Tbilisi, and our hosts are very friendly (only last month they raised the price from $600 to $800 a month). Property similar to ours is now rented for $1200-1500. Before that, for a year and a half, we lived in the Saburtalo district in a large two-room apartment for $450 a month, but there are no such prices in Tbilisi anymore. Now renting a one-room apartment for a month in Tbilisi costs $300-600, a two-room apartment $600-1000, a three-room apartment $800-2000. Prices in Batumi are slightly lower in winter, but during the tourist season they are the same as in the capital.
🔌💡 We have gas heating and because of a small child we use it a lot and often. In October we paid 83 lari ($30) for gas and 43 lari ($16) for electricity. In summer, we paid 15-30 GEL per month for gas and electricity. We need the Internet for work, so we use the speed of 100 Mb and pay 126 GEL. And it's hard to find alternatives here, this is the maximum internet speed for the capital. Water supply, garbage disposal and cleaning of the entrance are paid by the owners themselves.
📲 We pay for all utilities through the mobile application of banks by entering the ID at the company you need (it's easy to find through the name search).
❗️Bank applications can be downloaded here if you haven't already: TBC, BoG, Credo.

😶‍🌫️ Georgia may adopt a long-discussed law to control visible vehicle emissions.

According to Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for the Protection of the Environment and Natural Resources Maia Bitadze, the committee is considering a bill on visible emissions control.
In addition, as part of the bill, it is planned to increase sanctions for air pollution by faulty vehicles.
❗️ Do not underestimate the danger. Small soot particles get into the lungs and even into blood flow, causing various diseases. In particular, WHO estimates the death rate from air pollution at 7 million people a year, which is comparable to the death rate from smoking.
👀 Activists from My City is Killing Me (ჩემი ქალაქი მკლავს) many times drew attention to a large number of cars with visible exhaust.

🚁 Georgian farmers will receive drones for pest control.

The Ministry of Agriculture is discussing a project to co-finance drones that will be used by farmers to cultivate fields.
🗣We are going to introduce drone services in agriculture. Now a project is being prepared and will be launched very soon, thanks to which farmers will be able to purchase agricultural drones with the help of the state,” said the Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
👨‍🌾 With the help of GPS, the farmer will be able to designate the necessary area for drones, and during the flight, the agrodrone will spray the necessary means to combat parasites. The expensive maintenance of the drones is balanced by increased efficiency, according to the ministry.
💰 This year, the total budget of the state program for co-financing agricultural mechanization is 50 million lari (about $18 million)
