🎿🇬🇪 The state of ski resorts in Georgia on 08.01.22
For numerous reasons, once every couple of weeks I will do an update of news on highways, cable cars, snow.
📍GUDAURI: The road to the resort is good. The tracks themselves are already a bit in the sand. Equipment rental is available. Bars and cafes are open.
📍GODERZI: The road is still in terrible condition. Getting there takes 4-6 hours. There is a lot of snow in the resort itself. The cable cars are working.
📍BAKURIANI: The road is convenient. There are minibuses from Borjomi. There is snow, but not much, sand has also appeared. There are few good trails. One track. Lots of people. It is more suitable for a relaxing holiday with children. There is little rental of accessories.
📍MESTIA: The road is generally good. There is a lot of snow on the highways. New cable cars and cabins. There have been no problems with electricity in the last three days. You can fly on Vanilla Sky planes there.
❗️If you have something to add or consider it important, please write in the comments.

Alexander Goginava, a doctor at the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital, does not rule out that the current anti-coronavirus rules will be tightened due to the rapid dynamics of the spread of the omicron strain, which will peak in the second half of January.
«If we look at the growing dynamics of new cases, then, of course, the rules should be revised and tightened," Goginava said.

💡🔌 Will mining remain in Svaneti: the Ministry of Economy and Energo-Pro Georgia have started work on a tariff system in this region.
Individuals in Mestia currently receive electricity for free, but recently this has been exacerbated by massive mining, which causes overloading of ground networks, which has led to interruptions in work, damage to infrastructure and has a negative impact on tourism.
📍On December 30, 2021, the Svans gathered at the Church of St. George in Mestia and promised to turn off mining farms, but electricity consumption in the region has not decreased since then.

🛫🇰🇿 Air service between Kazakhstan and Georgia.
The only city where there are no flights yet: Almaty.
6 days after the cancellation of flights (the last plane left on the afternoon of 04.01.) the situation began to stabilize. For the second day in a row, planes depart on schedule or with a slight delay. Everyone whose flights have been canceled is gradually being put on empty seats or their departure dates are being changed. The governments of the two countries are deciding on additional flights, but there is no official information about this. At the moment, about 550 citizens of Kazakhstan remain in Georgia due to the cancellation of flights. All of them are supported and assisted.
❗️If you know families who still have problems, write to me at @nlevshits — I will pass the information to the embassy and volunteer coordinators.
