Three ESN Participants Win Fulbright TEA Program
🥳Khumora Muslimova, Nigora Karimova and Mashkhura Tursunova are taking academic seminars for professional development at California State University in Chico.
📌The Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program brings secondary-level teachers of English, English as a Foreign Language, math, science, and social studies, including special education teachers in those subjects, to the United States for a six-week program to take academic seminars for professional development at a host university and to observe and share their expertise with teachers and students at the host university and at local secondary schools.
"The ESN program has had a significant impact on me. It helped me improve my self-confidence, build my leadership skills, and introduced me to other skilled teachers in Uzbekistan. Together, we built a large Teachers' Community where we share ideas and support each other. In one word, the ESN program was the first step towards all the success I have achieved since then." Khumora Muslimova recalls.
🎉American Councils Uzbekistan is happy for the professional achievements of ESN program participants. We wish good luck on their study!

💫 ELDP Launches Focus Group Discussions to Shape Educational Leadership Course in Uzbekistan
On January 1, 2024, the Educational Leadership Development Program (ELDP) was officially launched in Uzbekistan by American Councils for International Education. The two-year program, funded by the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan, in partnership with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, aims to improve the educational leadership skills of school administrators in Uzbekistan.
⚡️ Between February 20 - 23, a series of online and in-person focus group discussions were held with school administrators from regional schools, administrators of schools under the Agency for the Development of Presidential, Creativity, and Specialized Schools, and administrators from schools in Tashkent. The focus group discussions, combined with needs assessment surveys and consultations with the Ministry of Pre-School and School Education, are intended to guide the customization of the ELDP program. The collected insights will help a U.S. institutional partner, known for its expertise in school leadership training, to develop a comprehensive two-module course to meet the specific needs and priorities of education leaders in Uzbekistan.
