I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that the government simply want British people homeless. Elsewhere today the Guardian carries a piece on how more homeless people than usual are dying on the streets.

Lets just run the basics here:

*We have a chronic shortage of housing, rents are bleeding people dry.
*More people are homeless, and dying in the cold.
*The Tory government are presiding over the highest levels of immigration there has ever been into this country, a million a year!

There comes a point when you have to stop thinking they're incompetent, or even just indifferent, instead you have to accept it's premeditated and has malicious intent.

For the last couple of weeks, I have been floored with grief at the thought that there are now barely two thousand children in Scotland who actively speak Gaelic, who would be able to sing the likes of this to their own children.

I am now consoled by the realisation that Gaeldom continues as what the Swiss call a Willensnation: those who treasure the heritage will continue it as a nation of deliberate choice.

This is a microcosm of the solace that there is for all of us who have seen their national heritage and national values fly out the window. We are not beating the wind in preserving them for a remnant.

Christian pastors talk a lot about the sovereignty of God as if nothing happens against His will because “God is in charge.” But there’s a big difference between causing something to happen (which He rarely does) and allowing it to happen, for testing purposes in this mortal probation, or as consequence for the growing ignorance and evil in people’s mind. After all, He is a God of justice too.
