🇵🇹 Ukrainian Orthodox Church opens its third parish in Portugal

— "A new parish of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church has opened in Portugal.

With the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine and in coordination with His Eminence Archbishop Nestor, the Moscow Patriarchate hierarch of Madrid and Lisbon, a new parish was founded in the suburbs of the capital city of Lisbon, reports the Ukrainian Church’s Information-Education Department.

The first Liturgy was celebrated on Sunday, November 28, in the town of Vala do Carregado in one of the local Catholic churches."

On this day 83 years ago, Corneliu Codreanu along with 13 other Legionaries were taken and strangled to death by prison guards on the orders of an anti-Christian government. Codreanu had requested a moment to speak to his Legionaries, to give them hope, and he was denied even this. They had ropes tied around their necks and they were strangled. They were then shot in the back to spread a lie that they had tried to escape.
