Tuning a wood kiln is just like tuning an engine.

I'm going to go sleep a little before the fun starts.

Reduction starts about 1700 F
It is like flooding an engine to the point that any oxygen entering the kiln is used for combustion thus removing all O2 from the kiln atmosphere giving the glazes their respective color.
It's just a slow steady march to 2400 degrees from here on out.

Lit the kiln at 7pm on Saturday and shut her down at 4am Tuesday morning
We will open and unload the kiln next Saturday and the pots will still be around 100 degrees.
