Rather than brag that companies are stuck in California, Wiener should consider his Net Promoter Score. Do the largest Californian companies and employers want to stay or are they trying to leave?

Well, the largest automotive, aerospace, software, networking and semiconductor companies are trying to leave: Tesla, SpaceX, Oracle, Cisco, and Intel. You might not know it, but the later three have been paying consultants large sums to figure out how to move out of CA, and concluded they are stuck.

This is not something to be proud about, neither for your track record of governance nor for the future! As an investor in that future, it's disturbing to see you crow about how we are stuck with you. Imagine a foreign country doing that. What a chilling effect that would have on anyone else considering setting up a new business there!

As a lifelong Democrat, and as someone who has collaborated with you on legislative efforts, it pains me to see politicians be so petty. You should embrace business employment and growth — even by companies led by people with political differences. In what world is it OK for a political leader to taunt their business leaders like this?

Tesla took over the derelict building, after it was stripped of anything useful, and it is now the highest production car factory in the Americas!
