ADJUSTMENTS TO BOYCOTTING POLICY: PUBLIC OPEN DISCUSSION.

Hello, Enggies. To ensure a more effective and impactful boycott policy, we decided to hold an internal discussion to talk about possible adjustments regarding our restrictions of boycotted products on our menfess submissions. After several considerations and other suggestions that we received from multiple people, we’ve reached two standpoints (https://news.1rj.ru/str/EnglishFess/450485) and made a poll (https://news.1rj.ru/str/EnglishFess/450486) to reach a more concrete decision on this possible revision.

To add more thorough explanation, here’s an example of the new rule if we were to adjust our boycott policy:

1) For an anime franchise such as Jujutsu Kaisen that has previously collaborated with McD, English Fess has fully restrict the mention of the anime itself as it may come across as promoting the on going collaboration back then.

-> However, after several suggestions and criticisms—as well as to ensure that the boycotting policy will be more focused and effective—the adjustment mentioned will make it possible for the restriction to be lifted: ONLY IF the collaboration has ended. In this case’s context, Jujutsu Kaisen’s collaboration with McD has ended and both parties are no longer benefiting from the association. Therefore, restrictions of this anime will be lifted but menfesses mentioning the product collaboration will remain disallowed.

This also applies to other franchises or public figures with similar situations.

While we have opened the opportunity to share your insights through our bot, we decided to hold a public open discussion regarding this matter. ✦ English Fess restricts the mention of boycotted products, brands, public figures, etc., that have affiliations/ties with Zionism in menfess submissions.

✦ The term affiliations/ties in the previous clause refers to any form of support, partisanship, or sentiment toward Zionism/Zionists.

✦ However, we will not restrict products with high urgency, those difficult to replace, or platforms used to spread awareness, such as electronic brands or social media platforms.

✦ If an individual (artist, public figure, influencer) has spoken publicly about their support for Palestine yet is affiliated with Zionist-linked products or franchises, it is still permissible to mention them. However, menfesses containing the boycotted products will remain disallowed.

E.g.: Rachel Zegler has actively spoken about her support for Palestinians, yet she previously played a role in a Di*ney franchise. The mention of the actress is permissible, but the mention of the movie and her role will remain prohibited.

✦ English Fess acknowledges that boycotting is a personal choice. Therefore, the implementation of this policy is only applied to menfesses, as we aim to focus on the areas we can control. We will not implement penalties in the comment section, as we believe it is the responsibility of each individual.
