🔰In Japan, all buildings ......... during the past decade are designed .......... powerful earthquakes. 🅰) building / withstanding 🅱) built / to withstand 🆑) having built / to be withstood 🅾) to be built / having withstood #quiz #q17 #RealTeam…

The answer is 🅱

1⃣. We need a reduced passive clause here.
- Because the sentence was like
:
🔹All buildings which have been built during ...
- And it is reduced to:
♦️All buildings built

2⃣. When we want to mention the reason of something we use the following words:
🔹To
🔸In order to
🔹So as to

♦️So the second blank should be filled with TO WITHSTAND

Common Mistakes in English
🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
Use Of The Wrong Tense

🗂Using the third person singular after does instead of the infinitive without to .

📍A) to ask question;

Don’t say :Does the gardener waters the flowers?
Say : Does the gardener water the flowers?

📍B) to make negatives ;

Don’t say : The man doesn’t waters the flowers .
Say : The man doesn’t water the flowers .

🔎After the auxiliary does use the infinitive without to , and not the third person .

📝Note : the answer to a question beginning with Does is always in the present tense, third person: Does he like the cinema?? _ yes, he likes the cinema; or Yes, he does.

🌴 SLANG 🌴

✔️Catch and Release

📚Meaning-To flirt with someone then stop when the person wants commitment. Catch and release is a dating term that refers to when someone flirts with a person then stops once she likes him back. It comes from the "catch and release" term associated with hunting and fishing for animals then releasing them after catching them.

People who like catch and release are known for liking the "chase" but not the commitment. Catch and release comes with a heightened level of excitement from the thrill of the chase. Things like flirty texts, alluring glances, and romantic gestures are a lot of fun but actually committing to a ship is too much to ask for.

🦋

🌸"He won't even return her texts.
Yeah, he's known for his love of the catch and release."

🌸Joey Tribbiani is well known for his catch and release attitude.

The L sound can be difficult to learn for some English language learners. That's because there are
actually two L sounds in English: the light L sound and the velar (or dark) L sound . In this lesson, you will learn how to make both L sounds and practice pronunciation with exercises.
The light L sound is usually found at the beginning of a word.
Let's practice:
⭕️like
⭕️lip
⭕️laugh
⭕️long
⭕️less
⭕️large

The dark L sound is really two sounds: a vowel sound + the L sound. After making the vowel sound, the tip of your tongue will rise up and press against the back of your top teeth in the same way as the light L sound. The dark L sound is a voiced sound, so your vocal cords will make the sound.
The dark L sound is often found in the middle or at the end of a word.
Let's practice:
🔴milk
🔴help
🔴whole
🔴tall
🔴tall
🔴girl
🔴call
🔴puddle
🔴real
🔴e-mail

Now say these sentences out loud:

1) I like to learn languages.
2) Lisa loves Larry a lot.
3) That is a long blog about learning.
4) It is a really good deal .
5) The small ball fell in the cool pool .
6) Call the tall girl .
7) Please leave the who le glass of milk on the table.
8) Look at the really l ittle flag.
9) I will list all of the final detai ls in my letter.
10) Please send the last e-mai l to my family
