China’s New Solar Mega-Plant Stuns the World
⚙️ Engineering
A massive solar field, half the size of Moscow, has been deployed in the Tibetan mountains.
The Talatan Solar Park spans 420 sq km at a 3km altitude. The cold climate and bright sun maximize energy efficiency.
By 2028, China plans to double its size and increase capacity fivefold by 2030. Its current 17 GW output can power a megacity like Moscow.
When the sun sets, wind turbines and hydro plants take over, turning Tibet into a 24/7 power factory.
All this power fuels servers and AI systems—from DeepSeek to robot manufacturing plants.

The Dzhanibekov Effect
On June 25, 1985, Vladimir Dzhanibekov was at the Salyut-7 station. He dropped a nut and bolt. Vladimir started watching it. The nut was hanging in zero gravity and slowly rotated around its axis. And suddenly it flipped 180 degrees - abruptly, with a jolt. The astronaut could not believe his eyes. But a few minutes later the nut jerked its orientation again. That's how the Dzhanibekov effect was discovered.
