The Three Proper Usage:

I'm leaving tomorrow; however, I'll be back on Friday.
(Between two independent clauses)
I'm leaving tomorrow. However, I'll be back on Friday.
(Starting a sentence)
I will be back on Friday, however, to collect my things.
(Breaking the flow in a sentence)
NOTE:

'However' is also means "whatever way or manner"
