Bank of Russia calls for full ban on crypto
Russia must ban cryptocurrencies, the country's central bank said in a report released Thursday.
The regulator believes that in the future, enhancing the current banking infrastructure, as well as introducing the digital ruble, a central bank digital currency currently in the works by the Bank of Russia, will satisfy the need of Russians for fast and cheap digital payment options, effectively giving them advantages of crypto without crypto.

Ethereum Fees Drop 35% Since Last Week, Average ETH Gas Fee Still Above $30 per Transfer
According to statistics, Ethereum network transaction fees have dropped 35% from the transfer fees recorded seven days ago. At the time of writing, the average fee to transact with ethereum is 0.0099 ether or $30.85 to $33.04 per transfer.

US officials are reportedly negotiating opportunities for contingency steps to secure energy supplies to European nations if a possible conflict between Russia and Ukraine disrupts current deliveries.
“We’re looking at what can be done in preparation for an event, especially midwinter with very low [European natural gas] supplies in storage,” a senior US administration official said, as quoted by FT.
The talks with Qatar and member states of the European Union are being held as the bloc is struggling with a severe energy crunch, which is sending prices for natural gas soaring to record highs.

German authorities asked Binance to hand over information on suspected customers and possible terrorist financiers Drilon G and Blinor S, as they’re known.
