Russia Alerted The WHO to The World's First Case of H5N8 Avian Flu in Humans

Russia said Saturday that its scientists had detected the world's first case of transmission of the H5N8 strain of avian flu from birds to humans and had alerted the World Health Organization.

While the highly contagious strain H5N8 is lethal for birds, it had never before been reported to have spread to humans.
Popova praised "the important scientific discovery", saying "time will tell" if the virus can further mutate.

A 1990s iMac Processor Powers NASA’s Perseverance Rover

As we watched NASA put a rover on Mars last month, it definitely seemed like the agency had to be using some sort of high-tech processor in its machine. Surely the rover is built on something much more powerful than the components in devices us civilians use, right? But while NASA is technically using a specialized processor to power the Perseverance rover, it’s not far removed from the world of consumer electronics—about 23 years ago.

🚀 SpaceX's SN10 Test Flight Highlights

Three Raptors (engines) relit. Shutdown one. Flip complete. Shutdown another. Landed on one as intended. Landing legs seemed to be an issue, but landed on the pad. Test was deemed extremely successful. SN10 later exploded on the pad likely due to a Methane leak however SpaceX are very satisfied with the data gained from the test. We look forward to future test flights.
