The largest things in the universe are black holes. In contrast to things like planets or stars they have no physical size limit, and can literally grow endlessly. Although in reality specific things need to happen to create different kinds of black holes, from really tiny ones to the largest single things in the universe. So how do black holes grow and how large is the largest of them all?

The James Webb telescope has a real launch date
The telescope is ready. So is the rocket. It's time.

NASA announced in August that the James Webb Space Telescope had passed its final ground-based tests and was being prepared for shipment to its launch site in Kourou, French Guiana. Now, the oft-delayed, $10 billion telescope has an official launch date: December 18, 2021.

In February 2021, NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance rover landed in Jezero crater, the site of an ancient lake. The mission seeks to discover signs of ancient martian life, and will collect rock, soil, and atmospheric samples for possible return to Earth. Perseverance and its field partner—the Ingenuity helicopter—have been actively exploring Jezero crater for several months, successfully coring the mission’s first rock sample. Multiple distinct geologic units have been characterized through these investigations, each containing information about the environmental history, habitability, and planetary evolution of Mars.
