The Revolt in Haifa: An Eyewitness Report

https://cwc.im/HaifaRevolt

An anonymous participant documents the May 2021 revolt in Haifa and the surrounding area, and the ensuing far-right violence and repression—exploring the tension between horizontal resistance and state power.

"What we desperately need right now is a joint insurrection, co-resistance, involving Jews and Arabs and all the people of this land, against all the authorities that keep us down and prevent us from seeing each other as fellow human beings. In the spaces of revolt, we must create autonomous liberated territories in which we could construct new ways of seeing each other and the world around us—to reinvent living, sharing a space as equals."
Mikhail Bakunin was born on this day in 1814.

“To love is to desire the liberty, the complete independence, of another person; the first act of true love is the complete emancipation of the object of our love; one can truly love only a perfectly free being, independent not only of all the others, but even and especially of the one who loves him, by whom he is loved and whom he loves himself—here is my profession of political, social and religious faith.”

-Mikhail Bakunin, March 29, 1845, in a letter to his brother Paul.

For those who imagine that all that is necessary to fix everything is for the left to win the elections, we recommend studying the experiences of the Workers' Party (PT) in Brazil, Syriza in Greece… and Salvador Allende in Chile.

Though both Trump and the Democratic party worked to change the subject from abolishing the police to electoral politics—a year ago, Newsweek reported that the burning of the Third Precinct was more popular than any of the candidates in the 2020 election.

Chile: La Papa Caliente Cambia de Manos

https://crimethinc.com/2021/05/28/chile-la-papa-caliente-cambia-de-manos-pero-que-significa-la-victoria-electoral-para-los-movimientos-autonomistas-1

"Struggle! To struggle is to live, and the fiercer the struggle the more intense the life. Then you will have lived, and a few hours of such life are worth years spent vegetating. Struggle so that all may live this rich, overflowing life."

—Peter Kropotkin, “Anarchist Morality”

Today, we honor the memory of Rayshard Brooks, murdered by police one year ago tonight at a Wendy's in Atlanta.

In response, protesters burned the Wendy's, then established an armed occupation in his memory.

On the Culture of Vehicular Attacks

The murder of Deona Marie Erickson in Minneapolis on June 13 was the result of years of right-wing efforts to normalize—and even legalize—vehicular attacks. Now the corporate media has ceased to prioritize covering them, paving the way for more killings.
