Today, Donald Trump and other officials from his administration held a panel fearmongering about "Antifa," featuring an array of far-right grifters who have made a living on rage-baiting.

One participant, Jack Posobiec, noted that "Antifa" dates back to the Weimar Republic, explicitly acknowledging that the Trump administration is opposed to those who resisted the arrival of Adolf Hitler in Power.

They are attempting to demonize opposition to fascism because they wholeheartedly embrace fascism itself.

On October 28, 2500 officers raided the favelas of Penha and Alemão in Rio de Janeiro to search for leaders of drug trafficking factions. It was a war zone: armored vehicles filling the streets, columns of smoke, barricades, helicopters and drones firing bullets and bombs over communities where more than 200,000 people live. By the end of the day, news reports indicated 64 deaths, making it the largest massacre in the state's history. On October 29, the residents found more than 50 additional bodies, raising the number to almost 130 confirmed deaths.

When we say that Gaza is the future of every favela and rebel territory, this is not a symbolic comparison. The logic of extermination is the same, whether we are speaking about organized crime (which the state participates in) or "terrorist organizations" (which states sponsor)—we are witnessing policies that treat entire populations as disposable on account of their skin color or residence.

Finalmente, a pregunta ineludible xurdiu: “Que fixeches na guerra?”, preguntou o antifascista checo ao partisano.

“Xa sabes, o habitual”, respondeu o partisano. “Formamos unha rede clandestina, investigamos a posibles recrutas, establecemos pisos francos e imprentas baixo a corda. Despois, comezamos a sabotar vías do tren e liñas de teléfono. E ao final, conseguimos levar a cabo asaltos para facernos con armas. A través delas, empezamos a recuperar aldeas e posteriormente rexións enteiras ata que, finalmente, expulsamos aos nazis fóra do país.”

“Todo iso sona moi ben”, respondeu o antifascista checo. “Por desgraza, onde estabamos, todo iso era ilegal!”

Yesterday's election results must not diminish the urgency of building the grassroots capacity to resist the institutions of the state and bring about the future that we desire.

First, because it is clear that Donald Trump will not leave power voluntarily.

But even more importantly, because the Democrats do not represent a real alternative. The Biden administration drove millions of people to vote for Trump because the Democrats offer no actual solutions to the problems that capitalism is creating.

Real change is up to us.
