“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”, they say, and we absolutely agree! 🙌
That is why our Batumi team set off for a breathtaking trip. The team visited Mtirala National Park where they could experience zip line rides and rope park adventures! Absolutely stunning nature with waterfalls and a filling dinner crowned the party 😍

About 30 Exadellers will work there - sharing motivation, ideas and inspiration 💙
The opening was a housewarming party with team-building activities, hearty conversations, inspiring discussion around future plans, cheers, laughter, and delicious snacks 😋 The team then moved to a nearby restaurant and we spent the Friday evening in fantastic company!

We are kicking off a new rubric from our consultant Oliver Davies. Every month he’ll give you some extremely valuable tips on using English at Con calls! 💬
In our working lives today we are always on con calls, video calls, Zoom meetings...whatever you call them! 👨💻 And believe it or not, even native speakers of English can feel self-conscious about how they come across online in English language meets.
📌 There are a few things you can do that will help you perform with greater confidence in live video calls, including nurturing a state of mind or attitude, and improving your English by familiarizing yourself with some key phrases.
👉 Be sure to read the whole material on our Facebook
💡 The Three-Point Strategy for Con Call Confidence
1⃣ Manage your Mindset
📎 Before your call, mentally prepare yourself. Think about:
- Your role in the call.
- What you are hoping to gain from the call.
- What you can offer in the call.
📎 Ask yourself:
- What is the stated aim of the call (from the person who called the meeting)?
- Who else will be on the call and what’s my relationship to them?
- What is my expected role in this ‘meeting’?
When you’ve answered these questions in very short sentences, sit back and look at your answers. Already, just by doing this, you should feel your mind becoming clearer and more focused.
2⃣ Prepare your Points
Even if you have a minor role in this meeting, and are not required to say much at all, prepare your points. Group what your main thoughts are into 3 succinct points. The rule of 3 always works as it helps you keep in mind what your main objectives are.
Useful phrases:
🔹 I believe / from my experience / from what I’ve been looking at recently, my instinct suggests that…
🔹 My top three priorities at the moment are….
🔹 My personal goals related to this project are currently…
🔹 I would like to achieve….. through my engagement with this initiative…
🔹 I’m inclined to believe we should do…. going forward / as the next steps / from now on in…
*Practice saying the phrases you write out loud
3⃣ Stay Present in the Meeting
This may sound obvious, but people so often forget it - when you are in the actual meeting itself, from start to finish, employ the skills of active listening.
📎 During the meeting:
- Say something after the call begins - a simple greeting, a confident succinct self-introduction, or a few words of thanks for the invitation.
- Consider what other people’s points are during the meeting.
- If you’re going to comment, build on their points and reference them concisely.
- Give credit to other people’s thoughts, views, statements and questions.
📎 Attending a meeting - Introductory Phrases:
🔹Thank you for the invitation / Thank you for inviting me here today.
🔹 Hi, it’s a pleasure to be here today. My name is…
🔹Thank you for your warm introduction. I am…
📎 Asking for Clarification
Don’t be too shy about asking for clarification if you think you’ve missed something, or would like more information about something.
🔹 I’m sorry, I didn’t quite catch that. Could you repeat that, please?
🔹 Can you run that by me one more time, please?
🔹 I’m afraid I didn’t quite understand that - could you say that again, please?
🔹 I’m sorry, would you mind repeating that last phrase again, please?
🔹 I apologize, could you say that again a little more slowly? I didn’t quite catch it.
🔹 I’m sorry, I’m not sure what you mean by that. Could you explain that a little?
🔹 Could you go into a bit more detail about that? I’m not quite sure I got it.
🔹 Could you please tell me what you mean by the term [term]?

IT recruitment is known as a good field for people with good English skills. But is it really? 🤔
We talked to Anna Borodich, a key recruiter at Exadel, to see if we could demystify her work 👇
🎙 How long have you been in IT recruiting?
"I have been in recruiting for two years. I was always interested in working in IT, but I wasn’t interested in programming itself. By accident, I met a friend who worked as a lead recruiter, who told me about what she does. It was all new to me - I didn’t even know the difference between a human resources manager and a recruiter!"
🎙 What were the first steps in your career?
"First, I took a class on recruitment. This showed me that I was actually interested. I was eager to put my new skills into practice, and less than two months after graduation, I managed to find a job as a recruiter."
🎙 What qualities are crucial for a successful recruiter?
1. "Independence. We work in a team of 50+ people, and although we have meetings and support each other, it is important for us to try to figure out issues ourselves before asking for help. We have end-to-end recruiting, so a recruiter at Exadel must be able to independently guide a candidate through the entire process.
2. Adaptability and openness. Exadel is a large company with complex processes; positions are changing all the time, as are projects and requirements.
3. Dedication and proactivity. We look for people who are passionate about their work and dedicated to their team’s success."
A recruiter can’t succeed without:
- A knowledge of English. This is super important! We are considering candidates with a B1 (intermediate) level, but higher is better.
- A basic understanding of recruiting. We appreciate it when a candidate understands technologies, positions, locations, and each stage of the recruiting process. A knowledge of recruiting tools is also indispensable.
- A passion for continuing education. You’ll need to be ready to keep learning, even after you’re done with university.

Exadel hires about 30% of its employees through events run by our Education Department. This is a stunning result and is beneficial to both the candidates and the company 🌟
Exadel’s educational programs include both trainings and sandboxes. But how do they differ, and which should you choose? Let’s find it out 👇
🔎 A sandbox is a practice-oriented course
▫️ We don't give lectures or theoretical materials, except for some recommendations from our mentors. For two months, our interns develop a project/application under the guidance of mentors who stay in touch 24/7 to advise, support, and direct.
▫️ We divide the students into teams with back-end and front-end developers and BA students in each.
Sometimes we add DevOps engineers.
▫️ Mentors help divide the work into parts and explain the way it should be done. On a practical level, the students learn what the project life cycle is, where to start, how to properly distribute, prioritize and delegate tasks to each other, how to communicate between the back-end and front-end, and how to collaborate. In addition to purely technical skills, interns get the whole picture of a commercial project workflow and boost their soft skills.
💡We offer students the most up-to-date technical stack to help them learn.
At the end of the training, the teams make demos of the application for an expert jury. Preparing and performing this type of presentation is a perfect opportunity to improve your public speaking skills.
🔎 A training is a theoretical course
▫️ Our experts give lectures, and the trainees get assignments on each topic. The assignments are checked by lecturers and their assistants. Generally, trainings are intended for future QAs.
▫️ This year, for the first time, we held trainings for Python, Java, and .NET developers, where the trainees were able to systematize and deepen their knowledge. Students who successfully master the training program can continue their studies in the sandbox.
Stay tuned so you don’t miss our next enrollment! 🚀

At Exadel, our core values include Work, Learn, and Teach 📚🤓
Collaboration and the exchange of ideas are always welcomed, especially between skilled professionals and newbies. Our developers are particularly good at sharing their expertise and life hacks because they have a wonderful sense of humor. They know how to explain complex concepts in a simple manner 🙌
When quarantine deprived them of the opportunity to hold tech talks in the office kitchen, they felt the need to come up with other ways to share ideas. As a result, Exadel JS Community launched a private Telegram channel in November 2020. Eventually, it turned into a public channel to ensure everyone could access our insights and expertise.
Our developers regularly share:
✔ JavaScript-related news, tutorials, and articles about web development
✔ also quizzes and polls to highlight important topics and encourage discussion among the participants
