Dollar - Cost Averaging (DCA)

What is a DCA
- Spreading out your purchase into multiple buy points or time period instead of going all in at once with big sum of money

As we all know, Crypto market is super volatile and traders/investors tend to struggle with this high volatility in the market.

Here comes DCA to solve the volatility problem

But there is also different risk to bear with this kind of approach.

How to DCA:

1) Choosing an asset
- Whether it be a high market cap or a memecoin, you must choose a proper asset that:

a) You have a conviction
b) Able to bear the risk of losing in certain period
c) Big returns / Mid returns

2) Have an initiate buy point
- Start opening a position with only 1/3 of your original position that you want to allocate in that asset.
- Find an entry point that suits you. Any entry is fine since you only initiate 1/3 of your original position still and can bear the risk.

3) Don’t panic when it drops
- Some people want to do DCA but unable to do it because they lack confidence and easily panic.
- This goes back to number 1, choosing a proper asset.
- If you’re having conviction, you won’t be panic and will be more than happy to DCA down the position and have a better average entry point

4) Scale out of position
- When you’re already in profit, similar to how you get in. you can scale out your position to lock in those profits
- Don’t be greedy. Greed kills.

The risk of DCA
- Loss your accumulate value because of poor asset
- Decrease portfolio value
- Extended recovery time for an asset to recover or might not recover
- Risk of timing the market
