ETH/BTC Alts Indicator

ETH/BTC is essentially use to see the relative strength of Alts in compared to BTC. As we know BTC is the Leader of Cryptocurrency and ETH is the Leader of Altcoins.

The pattern we can see from the previous cycle is:

1) Price consolidation above support for few months
2) Broke down from consolidation period
3) Broke below the horizontal support line during Fed cut rates in 2019
4) Close 2 months in drawdown then bottomed out before the big Alt Rally

This similar playbook is currently playing as we speak.

The chart consolidated for months and now breaking down from the consolidation and below the support.

Possibility for closing red in Aug and Sept before we bottomed out.

August and September are STATISTICALLY the WORST months for Crypto, and it’s quite clear we are right in the midst of seeing that unfold…. So let me make one thing VERY clear to you all:

To succeed in Crypto, you must first survive. You are nothing without your capital.

Yesterday I expressed why I have been trading cautiously. Not only have the charts been pointing towards going lower (short term), but also the market is over saturated and participants are exhausted. A small reset is needed before only up mode.

It’s days like these where you need to learn to just turn off your computer, go for a walk and touch some grass. If you’re sat behind your PC watching your port crumble, working out how to revenge trade it back, I guarantee you, you will lose everything. Remember, most people will leave Crypto at a loss.

The most valuable lesson I ever learnt, and also the hardest, was understanding when NOT to trade. In itself, choosing not to open any trades is a trading decision… and often it’s a very good one in times like this. It’s so easy to run through your entire portfolio if you keep tricking yourself into thinking we are in prime market conditions. Objectively, we are not… Additionally, anyone who followed along to this channel would also know that in all times we have 30-50% of our portfolio in stables so that we can eat up the big dips when they come.

Take it easy. Focus on preserving capital. Avoid leverage and make sure you are able to survive.

The beauty of Crypto lies in its volatility. Learn to embrace, do not get lost in it.
