The dot size indicates the tyre age: the larger, the older the tyre. 🛞
Laptimes improved quickly up to lap 30, then they stabilised.
The 🟡 Medium compound seemed to prevail until the last part of the race, where the ⚪️ Hard was superior
This might be influenced by which part of the race the quickest and slowest teams decided to use each compound.
Only Russell did a (short) stint on the 🔴 Soft tyres.

The field was EXTREMELY tight: just a 0.3s difference between the best and worst 0-200km/h time!😳
📈Best starters: ALB, VER, LEC, BOT, NOR, TSU, and ZHO (best 0-200 time, but they started on Mediums!)
All those starting on Softs needed 5.5s

Minimum Speeds (turn6) - #QatarGP
Gasly and Russell reached three figures once: 100km/h for both. RUS had the highest speed on average: 97km/h, considering his 15 highest values.
STR was slowest, and ALO 3rd slowest: Aston probably didn't have good mechanical grip.

Positions during #QatarGP
📈Russell's recovery was phenomenal: dead last (18th) on lap 3, he briefly became 2nd on lap 14, when others pitted. He got P4 on lap 35.
ALB briefly led, but only for part of the lap. Does this count as a Grand Slam for Verstappen? 🤔
"At the time, ALB was leading Williams' first lap at the front since 2015. He led roughly 98% of it and dove into the pits. But since VER crossed the start-finish line first, he was credited with 'leading the lap'."

Last year's RedBull was a threat, but Newey's team improved it everywhere!📈

+3km/h top speed➡️~3% less drag
+5km/h fast turn➡️~+4% downforce?
+2km/h slow turn➡️~6% more 'mechanical' grip!
And the car looks pretty similar!🤯
The computations are rough estimates based on these concepts:
- For a given level of power, the drag reduction required grows with the cube of speed.
- The cornering forces/grip required increases with the square of speed.
