Throughout history, Iran has been a bridge between the east and the west. Iran’s historical cities such as Isfahan, which is often known as “half of the world”, are clearly indicative of this connection. From this perspective, Iranian public spaces can reflect the historical nature of the connection between the east and the west. Tehran, Iran’s capital is one of the biggest metropolises in the world. In only 200 years, a small village turned into the most populated and most important city in this country. During this period, the evolution in its public spaces and creation of new urban spaces influenced by a political economy, cultural factors and the globalization trend offer an interesting story especially during the past two decades in which the speed of these changes in Tehran has notably increased.
The conference invites all urban experts to Tehran and welcomes their scientific contribution to the event.

♦️City Spaces - Tourist Places both consolidates and develops the extant knowledge of urban tourism precincts into a coherent research driven contemporary work. It revisits and examines the foundational literature but, more importantly, engages with aspects of precinct development that have previously been either underdeveloped or received only limited consideration, such as the psychological and socio-cultural dimensions of the precinct experience.

◀️کنفرانس بینالمللی «آینده فضاهای عمومی شهری» (FUPS2018) در روزهای آغازین مهرماه (5-3) امسال در دانشگاه تربیت مدرس تهران برگزار میشود. این رویداد، کنفرانسی به معنای واقعی بینالمللی است، بدینمعنا که سایتهای معتبر جهانی فراخوان همایش را ثبت کرده و مقالات متعددی از کشورهای مختلف دنیا همچون آلمان، ایتالیا، برزیل، آمریکا، انگلستان، اندونزی، هندوستان، پرتغال، اسپانیا، نیوزیلند، روسیه، هلند، رومانی، لهستان، ترکیه، چین، مجارستان، صربستان، جمهوری چک، نیجریه، اتريش، بنگلادش و کشور عزیزمان ایران به زبان انگلیسی به دبیرخانه همایش ارسال شده است.
◀️همکاری نهادها و دانشگاههای بینالمللی و ایرانی در تعامل با ارائه و تحلیل تجربیات وزارت راه و شهرسازی ایران، فضای آکادمیک و حرفهاي را در این همایش ایجاد کرده تا به ابعاد مختلف یکی از کلیدیترین مفاهیم شهرسازی یعنی فضای عمومی در عصری پرداخته شود که تغییرات شگرفی به نظاره آینده شهرهای ایران و دیگر نقاط جهان نشسته است.
◀️تلاش بر آن است که همراه با بازدید پروژههای فضای عمومی در تهران در این سه روز، فضایی گفتمانی در استاندارد یک رویداد بین المللی شکل گیرد. در مقیاس ملی نیز فراهم آوردن فضایی برای تعامل اساتید و دانشجویان دانشگاهها و موسسات مختلف ایران از اهداف کنفرانس است.
◀️علاوه بر سخنرانیهای کلیدی به صورت پنلهای عمومی و همزمان، گفتگوهای همگانی (Public Talks) در این کنفرانس برنامهریزی شده است.
