As regards holding regular gatherings, whether weekly, monthly or annually, apart from the gatherings that are prescribed in Sharee’ah, this implies that one is making them as important as the gatherings for the five daily prayers, Jumu’ah, Eid and Hajj, and this is a newly-invented innovation.
The principle in question here is: the Islamic acts of worship which are repeated at certain intervals and are thus special occasions, have been prescribed by Allah and are sufficient for mankind. If any other gatherings are invented in addition to these gatherings, it means that they are being given a status equal to that of the occasions prescribed by Allah, which leads to the adverse effects referred to above. This is in contrast to what a person or a small specialized group may undertake on their own sometimes.
On the basis of the above: it is not permissible for the Muslim to take part in these events which are celebrated regularly every year, because of their resemblence to the prescribed Islamic festivals, as explained above. But if it is a “one-off” event that is not repeated, and the Muslim can use the occasion to convey the truth to people, then there is nothing wrong with that, in sha Allah.
And Allah knows best.

Allah's statement,
وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلاَّ وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
and die not except as (true) Muslims.
❝ It means, preserve your Islam while you are healthy and safe, so that you die as a Muslim.
Due to His generosity, the Most Generous (Allah) has established a general rule: that whatever state one lives in, is what he dies upon, and whoever dies upon something is what he is resurrected upon. We seek refuge in Allah for a variance in this. (To die in opposition to islam, after living a life upon it.) ❞

IF YOU DONT FIND ME IN JANNAH,
THEN ASK ABOUT ME
'If you don't find me in Jannah then ask about me... 'Surely the people of Jannah when they enter and they don't find those companions of theirs who were with them upon good in this world, they will intercede for them in front of Allah (swt) and they will say:
"Oh Rabb we have brothers & sisters who used to read salah and fast with us, we do not see them?
Allah (swt) will say - Go to the fire and take out any person who had even an atoms amount of Iman in their heart."
And Hassan Basri has said -
'Have lots of believing friends because they will be able to intercede for you on the day of Qiyamah.'
If you don't find me in Jannah then please ask about me..."

❝ Allah ﷻ said:

Whoever is inspired by Allah ﷻ , with Al-Tasbīḥ and Al-Dhikr (remembrance)... is freed from hypocrisy.
Therefore, abundance in dhikr is a sign of faith, and a lack of dhikr is a sign of hypocrisy.
