“A heart that remembers its Lord
Is a lamp in the darkest night.
But a heedless heart,
Is like a ship adrift, lost in the storm.”

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar:
Once Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Amongst the trees there is a tree, the leaves of which do not fall and is like a Muslim, tell me the name of that tree." Everybody started thinking about the trees of the desert areas and I thought of the date-palm tree but felt shy (to answer). The others asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ! inform us of it." He replied, "it is the date-palm tree." I told my father what had come to my mind and on that he said, "Had you said it I would have preferred it to such and such a thing that I might possess."

'Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Some prisoners were brought to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) amongst whom there was a woman who was running (searching for her child). When she saw a child among the captives, she took hold of it, pressed it against her belly and gave it a suck. Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Do you think this woman would ever throw her child in fire?" We said, "By Allah, she would never throw the child in fire." Thereupon Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Allah is more kind to his slave than this woman is to her child".

To be patient is hard. So seeking help in Patience and Salah are hard except for khashioon
To be patient:
To keep being grateful,
To not complain,
To not yearn for what the other has/compare,
To fight off the waswasah and desires,
whether it be during a hardship, being patient with others harm, being patient in ibadah, being patient in loneliness, being patient in keeping steadfast, being patient in not letting yourself stray away from this path
It's hard.
Except for true belivers, with tawakkul and yaqin; full submission.
Cause you know His Qadr is the best, His Tests are meant to draw you closer to Him, to drive you to submission, to seek nothing but His Face.
And you fear His Punishment lest you make the wrong move..
So even in the face of things you deem bad, you have sabr, you are at peace..
Keep reminding yourself of His Words when you feel yourself wavering:
(Interpreted Translations)
“but give glad tidings to As‑ Saabiroon (the patient)”
“Verily, I have rewarded them this Day for their patience; they are indeed the ones that are successful”
“And Allah loves the sabiroon”
Because in the end that's all that matters..
Whether you lost to someone you hate, whether you didn't get much in this dunya, whether you didn't get justice here or bore harm till the end. These things won't matter...
Whether you never got rest here doesn't matter. Because rest is for Jannah..
So even if you feel exhausted, don't give up. For Allah sees and knows your efforts even if others don't.
It doesn't matter if fulana doesn't know of the the struggles you face and the smiles you fake. It doesn't matter if fulana thinks you're well off and free of trials. It doesn't matter if fulana is not aware of the aches of your heart.
Allah knows. That's all that matters. He, The One Who aids and rewards knows.
And thus the famous words of Yaqub
He said: "I only complain of my grief and sorrow to Allah, and I know from Allah that which you know not.”
We all have 'customised' trials. Some with wealth, some family, some friends, some health, some are tested with things which we can't see, in the mind, the waswasah and temptations.
We not only have to try to be patient with OUR trials, but we also try to lessen others tests for them. It maybe a smile, time from your life, advise, a hug, gifts or physical help, or a dua, trying to get them justice, etc..
It's never a competition: I'm tested more than them so I can't be there for them, etc..
That's the true meaning of having patience in your trial and in your ibadah, in your responsibilities and obligations..
For even in the hardest of trials, it's never truly about you and only you. You are still a little part of the bigger picture, the bigger family, the ummah. You can't forget about them..
Hence even bearing this in mind, you got to have patience..
For His Sake, to be there for your brothers and sisters in however way you can..
We can't wallow in our own grief and misery and forget our identity and true purpose...
