At-Taubah 9:24



قُلۡ إِن كَانَ ءَابَآؤُكُمۡ وَأَبۡنَآؤُكُمۡ وَإِخۡوَٰنُكُمۡ وَأَزۡوَٰجُكُمۡ وَعَشِيرَتُكُمۡ وَأَمۡوَٰلٌ ٱقۡتَرَفۡتُمُوهَا وَتِجَٰرَةࣱ تَخۡشَوۡنَ كَسَادَهَا وَمَسَٰكِنُ تَرۡضَوۡنَهَآ أَحَبَّ إِلَيۡكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَجِهَادࣲ فِي سَبِيلِهِۦ فَتَرَبَّصُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَأۡتِيَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَمۡرِهِۦۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ

English - Mohsin Khan/Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali


Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred, the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which you fear a decline, and the dwellings in which you delight are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger, and striving hard and fighting in His Cause,[1] then wait until Allah brings about His Decision (torment). And Allah guides not the people who are Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

(24) (އޭ رسول ﷲ އެވެ!) ކަލޭގެފާނު ވިދާޅުވާށެވެ! ކަލޭމެންގެ ބަފައިންނާއި ކަލޭމެންގެ ދަރިންނާއި އަދި ކަލޭމެންގެ أخ ންނާއި އަދި ކަލޭމެންގެ އަނބީންނާއި އަދި ކަލޭމެންގެ ގާތްތިމާގެ މީހުންނާއި އަދި ކަލޭމެން އެއްކޮށް ގިނަކުރާ މުދާތަކާއި އަދި އެމުދާ ނުހިނގައިފާނެކަމަށް ބިރުވެތިވާ ވިޔަފާރިޔާ އަދި ކަލޭމެން ރުހޭ ގޯތިގެދޮރުތަކާއި (މި މިތަކެތި) ކަލޭމެންގެ ކައިރީގައި ﷲ އާއި އެކަލާނގެ رسول އާ އާއި އަދި އެކަލާނގެ މަގުގައި جهاد ކުރުމާއި މިކަންކަމަށްވުރެ ލޯބިވެތިކަން ބޮޑުވެގެންވަންޏާ ދެން ﷲ ގެ أمر ފުޅު އައުމުގެ إنتظار ގައި އެބަހީ: ﷲ ގެ عذاب އައުމުގެ إنتظار ގައި ކަލޭމެން ތިބޭށެވެ! އެކަމަކީ އެއީ ﷲ ގެ عذاب އަތުވެދާނޭ ކަމެކެވެ. އަދި فاسق ވެއްޖެ ބަޔަކަށް ﷲ ތެދުމަގު ނުދައްކަވައެވެ.

Ash-Shu'ara' 26:215
وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

"It is hard for us to memorize the words of the Quran, but easy to act upon it.
But those after us will find it easy to memorize the Qur'an but hard to act upon it."

When a servant does Rīyyā’ (showing off),

Allāh Tabāraka Wa Ta’ālā says to His angels:

Look at My servant he is mocking Me.

Punishments Of A Sinner

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

The punishments of a sinner are as follows;


• Being deprived of Islamic knowledge (‘Ilm)
• Feeling of alienation in the heart
• Physical weakness
• Being unable to do acts of worship
• Being deprived of blessings
• Turning away from Allāh
• Anxiety
• Getting comfortable with sins
• The sinner becomes insignificant in the sight of Allāh
• The sinner becomes insignificant in the sight of people
• The curse of the animals will be upon him
• The sinner will bear marks of humiliation
• His heart will be sealed and he will come under the curse (of Allāh)
• The sinner’s Du’ā is not answered
• Loss of Gheerah (protective jealousy)
• Loss of modesty (Ḥayā)
• The blessings of Allāh disappear
• Punishment will befall him
• Fear in the heart of the sinner
• Falling into the traps of Shayṭān
• A bad end in worldly life (Dunyā)
• Torment in grave
• Punishment in the Hereafter

Imagine this:
You chose Deen over Dunya. You prayed 5 times daily, read the Quran, and followed the Sunnah.
You avoided swearing, backbiting, and music. You honored your parents, kept good company, and maintained distance from the opposite gender. You were kind, stayed on the right path, resisted Shaytan, and always repented.
Then on the Day of Judgement, Allah said:
"Oh reassured soul,
Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing to Him,
And enter among My servants, And enter My Paradise."
(Quran 89:30)
