Istighfar is one of the most powerful keys Allah has given us. Many people think it's only for when we commit sins, but the Qur'an reminds us that it brings so much more. Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send rain from the sky upon you in abundance. And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and rivers." (Qur'an 71:10-12). SubhanAllah, this shows that istighfar brings sustenance, barakah in wealth, blessings in family, health, and even peace in life. Sometimes we work hard and try everything, yet we still feel blocked.
The doors don't open not because our effort isn't enough but because our hearts need cleansing. And istighfar does exactly that. A person who keeps their tongue moist with Astaghfirullah will find doors of rizq and ease opening in ways they could never imagine. So don't see istighfar as something small.

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

“The similitude of this world is like that of a vessel filled with honey. The flies see this vessel and fly toward it.

Some of them sit on the edge of the vessel and take from the honey until they satisfy their needs, and then they fly away.

Some of them are led by their greed to plunge themselves into the abyss of the honey. Their submersion into the honey prevents them from enjoying it, except for a brief enjoyment, until they perish in the middle of it.”

🍃🍂 Popular Aḥādīth That Are Not Confirmed 🍂🍃

O Allāh, bless us in Rajab and Sha’bān, and allow us to reach Ramaḍān

It is attributed to Anas ibn Mālik that he said:

When the month of Rajab would enter, the Prophet (ﷺ) used to say, “O Allāh, bless us in Rajab and Sha’bān, and allow us to reach Ramaḍān.” And if it were the night of Jumu’ah, he would say, “This is a night that is ġarrā’ (blazing white), and a day that is azhar (radiant).”

The ḥadīth was reported by al-Bazzār, [1] and it was also reported by al-Ṭabarānī, Ibn Abī ad-Dunyā, al-Khallāl, Abū Nu’aym al-Aṣbahānī, and al-Bayhaqī without the Jumu’ah portion. [2]

It was also reported by Aḥmad with the wording:

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي رَجَبٍ وَشَعْبَانَ، وَبَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ. وَكَانَ يَقُولُ: لَيْلَةُ الْجُمُعَةِ غَرَّاءُ، وَيَوْمُهَا أَزْهَرُ

“O Allāh, bless us in Rajab and Sha’bān, and bless us in Ramaḍān.” And he used to say, “The night of Jumu’ah is ġarrā’, and its day is azhar.” [3]

This ḥadīth, however, only comes by way of Zā’idah ibn Abī ar-Ruqād, from Ziyād ibn ‘Abd-il-Lāh al-Numayrī, from Anas ibn Mālik, and it is a ḍa’īf (weak) munkar narration. After reporting it, aṭ-Ṭabarānī said, “This ḥadīth is not narrated from the Prophet (ﷺ) except by way of this isnād. Zā’idah ibn Abī ar-Ruqād is alone [in narrating it].” And what confirms that it is munkar is that none of the companions of Anas reported this ḥadīth from him except a weak narrator.

Ziyād al-Numayrī was class as weak by Yaḥyā ibn Ma’īn and Abū Dāwūd.

Abū Ḥātim al-Rāzī said, “His ḥadīth is to be written, but not taken as evidence.”

Ibn Ḥibbān said, “He is munkar al-ḥadīth; he narrates from Anas things that do not resemble the narrations of those who are trustworthy.”

His trustworthiness in narrations can be summed by Imām Aḥmad who narrates that Ibn Abī Mulaykah said, “I was informed that Ziyād al-Numayrī said that a night from Sha’bān is better than such and such. If he were here by me, I would have struck his head here with this [piece] of wood.”

As for Zā’idah ibn Abī ar-Ruqād, then Yaḥyā ibn Ma’īn said, “He is nothing.”

Al-Bukhārī said, “Zā’idah ibn Abī ar-Ruqād from Ziyād al-Numayrī and Thābit is munkar al-ḥadīth.”

Abū Ḥātim al-Rāzī said, “He narrates from Ziyād al-Numayrī from Anas marfū’ aḥādīth that are munkar, so we did not know if it was from him or from Ziyād.”

Al-Bazzār said, “Zā’idah’s aḥādīth are renounced in that which he is alone in narrating.”

An-Nasā’ī said, “He is munkar al-ḥadīth.” And elsewhere he said, “He is not trustworthy.”

Ibn Ḥibbān said, “He narrates what is munkar from those who are well-known. His reports are not to be taken as evidence, nor written except for consideration.”

In conclusion: Since the essence of this du’ā’ is founded upon two narrators who are unacceptable, and there is no other path to strengthen this narration, then it is not correct to attribute this to be a sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ) that is to be said when the month of Rajab enters. There is nothing wrong with a person making a du’ā’ to live and reach the month of Ramaḍān, however, the focus is on whether it is a sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ) to do so, and this cannot be affirmed.

Why we need to try as much as we can to depend on OUR Hijri calendar, rather than the disbelievers gregorian calendar.

May Allah reward and bless the Ahlut Tawhid brothers who inspired us.
Forwarded from Ramblings Of Souls 2
I met a sister and her two young girls under a makeshift tent beside the road in Baghuz. There were signs of tiredness and hardship on her, covered in dust and had lost so much weight. We had less or nothing to eat for months and had nothing to seek shelter in except the sky.

We talked a little and through the conversation she said something in the lines of, "Allah says, inna ma'al 'usri yusraa. The ease is with the hardship, it comes together and not separately". This was the only part of conversation that I stayed in my mind.

I didn't understand what she said or meant at that time but her words eased my heart. What could she be thinking while she is in that situation, with her daughters skinny to the bones and her 1 year old didn't have strength to even cry. What ease did she see in that situation? I didn't understand back then. She had no doubt in Allah's help nor His victory and the Qur'an she memorized in her heart was her serenity. She was later killed with her daughters in a trench by a grenade thrown by the enemies. May Allah accept her. A sister, who never ceased to smile and thank Allah even in the harshest of conditions. That was her victory.

As years passed this statement stayed in my heart and contemplated on what she had said, it continued eased my heart even though I couldn't see things as she did, until recently. I discovered in my own way what she meant and saw.

Allah always gave trials, sometimes one storm heavier than the other, sometimes I don't even realize I'm being tested until Allah takes me out from the pit and showed me what I was in. In trials, there's purification of sins, strengthening of eeman and tawakkul in Allah and lessons that makes us grow and prepare for the next storm.

He showed me that I can find ease if I looked for it, it could be something insignificant for some. Allah gave us our children, their laughs and smiles, their presence was a warmth to their mother's hearts. He gave us nature, to contemplate and cool our eyes and hearts. He gave us companions, with whom we shared our thoughts and problems. He gave us the ability to learn and create things from our hands. He gave us means to find ease even in difficulty. And most importantly He gave us Qur'an, without which there won't be ease.

I realized, it was her attachment to Qur'an that she saw what normal people didn't see and realize. Her Qur'an was her shelter, her food, her nourishment, her strength and her drive to move forward and not look back. It wasn't possible to seek ease without it. Nature without contemplation and relating to Allah will never heal the hearts. How many days, years and seasons have passed while the guards on the towers watched the sunrise and sunset but eaman never entered their hearts.

Qur'an and contemplation are like shelters in a heavy storm. With it you see the light in places of darkness and ease in times of hardship.

How much blessings do we have, yet we don't realize them? If we counted our blessings rather than wail over what we've lost, we can go through anything bi idhnillah.

An advise for myself and sisters: Befriend the Qur'an and contemplate. Count your blessings and stay with good companions who lift and strengthen you, push you forward and take you to heights that you never think you could. LOOK for ease, and you will find it in ways you never thought you could. Treasures don't unearth by itself, you have to do it yourself.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah: When you see the servant talking about the people when they’ve hurt him whilst he doesn’t return the blame back to himself and seek forgiveness (from Allaah), then know that his calamity is a true calamity.

However when he repents, seeks forgiveness and says “this is due to my sins” then this matter (of being hurt by people) will become a blessing for him!
