Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

Do you know what is backbiting? They (the Companions) said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Thereupon he (the Prophet ﷺ) said: Backbiting implies you talking about your brother in a manner which he does not like. It was said to him: What is your opinion about this that if I actually find (that failing) in my brother which I made a mention of? He said: If (that failing) is actually found (in him) what you assert, you in fact backbited him, and if that is not in him it is a slander.

[Sahih Muslim 2589]

Al-Fudayl ibn 'Iyād said, "Love is better than fear. Do you not see that if you have two slaves one of whom loves you and the other of whom fears you, that the one who loves you will be true to you whether you are present or absent because of his love of you. The one who fears you will perhaps be true to you when you are present because of his fear of you, but he will deceive you when you are absent and not be true to you."

And righteous people are walking fast on the sirat (a bridge over hellfire) and you are tripping and falling?"

Sunnah Gems Series

One of the most rewarding yet overlooked Sunnahs is praying two rakʿahs after wuḍū’.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“No Muslim performs wuḍū’ and perfects it, then stands and prays two rakʿahs with full focus of heart and face, except that Jannah becomes obligatory for him.” 🤍
— Sahih Muslim

Wuḍū’ cleans the body — but these two rakʿahs cleanse the heart. They are a quiet moment between you and Allah, sealed with sincerity and presence. This Sunnah teaches us that worship is not rushed. What matters is not only what we do — but how we stand before Allah. 🌿

🌿 A Deed That Raises Ranks

Bilāl رضي الله عنه was asked about the deed he hoped for most. He said that every time he made wuḍū’, day or night, he would pray two rakʿahs. Because of this, the Prophet ﷺ heard his footsteps in Jannah.

Small acts, done consistently — reach places you never imagined.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَدْوَمُهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّ

“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small.”
Bukhari & Muslim

🌿 A deed done only for Allah

These rakʿahs are:
• Not obligatory
• Not seen by people
• Not tied to a time or crowd

They are purely between you and Allah — and such deeds carry special weight.

The quietest deeds are often the heaviest on the scales.

🌿 And the Reward?

For every two rakʿahs prayed after wuḍū’:

🔹 Sins are erased
🔹 Hearts are softened
🔹 Ranks are raised
🔹 You follow the footsteps of Bilal رضي الله عنه which was heard in Jannah
