GOOD AND BAD COMPANIONSHIP

On the authority of Abī Mūsā al-Ash'ari (radiAllāhu anhu) who said that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:

"The example of the righteous companion and the evil companion is like that of the bearer of musk and the blower of the [blacksmiths] bellows. So the bearer of musk; either he will give you some, or you will buy some from him or you will find a pleasant smell from him. And the blower of the [blacksmiths] bellows; either he will burn your clothes, or you will find a noxious smell from him." *

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

A Muslim has five duties towards another Muslim :

-to return a salutation
-visit the sick
-follow funerals
-accept an invitation
-say 'Allah have mercy on you' when one sneezes

[Al-Bukhari - Muslim]

Abu Musa Ash'ari reported on the authority of his father that Allahs Apostle (ﷺ) used to supplicate in these words:

" O Allah, forgive me my faults, my ignorance, my immoderation in my concerns. And You are better aware (of my affairs) than myself. O Allah, grant me forgiveness (of the faults which I committed) seriously or otherwise (and which I committed inadvertently and de- liberately. All these (failings) are in me. O Allah, grant me forgiveness from the fault which I did in haste or deferred, which I committed in privacy or in public and You are better aware of (them) than myself. You are the First and the Last and over all things You are Omnipotent."

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) talked about Friday and said, "There is an hour (opportune time) on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while praying and asks something from Allah, then Allah will definitely meet his demand." And he (the Prophet) pointed out the shortness of that time with his hands.

Ibn Taymiyyah said:

Indeed, even if the slave strives as hard as he can, he will never be able to fulfil the right of Allah that He has made obligatory on him; so nothing will allow him to excel except seeking forgiveness and repenting after every act of obedience.

And what is the matter with you that you spend not in the Cause of Allah? And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquering (of Makkah) (with those among you who did so later). Such are higher in degree than those who spent and fought afterwards. But to all, Allah has promised the best (reward). And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA):

"If you see that your brother has slipped, then correct him, pray for him, and don't help Satan against him (by insulting him).

Whoever sets his tongue free to slander and speaks about the honour of Muslims and seek their faults, Allāh will hold back his tongue from saying the shahādah at his death.
