Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله):

You should not look at what the person used to do, rather you should look at what kind of person they are today.

The one who gets bogged down about people’s pasts, is just like Iblis who said to Allāh,
'You created me from fire and you created him from clay.'

[al-Minhaaj Vol.2, p.430]

‏As-Saffat 37:25
مَا لَكُمۡ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ

‏"What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?"

(މިއަދު) ތިޔަބައިމީހުން އެކަކު އަނެކަކަށް އެހީނުވަނީ ކީއްވެގެންހެއްޔެވެ؟

Perhaps that du’a will be answered more beautifully than i worded it ~
