Abu Musa al-Ash'ari reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
A believer who recites the Qur'an is like an orange whose fragrance is sweet and whose taste is sweet; a believer who does not recite the Qur'an is like a date which has no fragrance but has a sweet taste; and the hypocrite who recites the Qur'an is like a basil whose fragrance is sweet, but whose taste is bitter; and a hypocrite who does not recite the Qur'an is like the colocynth which has no fragrance and has a bitter taste.

Al-Anbiya - 21:83-84
وَأَيُّوبَ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرۡحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفۡنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ضُرٍّۖ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ أَهۡلَهُۥ وَمِثۡلَهُم مَّعَهُمۡ رَحۡمَةً مِّنۡ عِندِنَا وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡعَٰبِدِينَ
And (remember) Ayyûb (Job), when he cried to his Lord: "Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy.".
So We answered his call, and We removed the distress that was on him, and We restored his family to him (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them as a mercy from Ourselves and a Reminder for all those who worship Us.
(83) (އޭ رسول ﷲ އެވެ!) އަދި أيُّوبُ عليه السَّلام ގެ ވާހަކަ ހަނދުމަފުޅުކުރައްވާށެވެ! އެކަލޭގެފާނު ދެންނެވިއެވެ. އޭ އަޅުގެ ربّ އެވެ. ހަމަކަށަވަރުން މިއަޅާއަށް އުނދަގޫޖެހިއްޖެއެވެ. އަދި އިބަރަސްކަލާނގެއީ رحمة އެންމެބޮޑުވެގެންވާ ކަލާނގެއެވެ.
(84) ދެންފަހެ ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެކަލޭގެފާނަށް އިޖާބަކުރައްވައި އެކަލޭގެފާނަށް ޖެހިވަޑައިގެންފައިވާހާ އުނދަގުލަކާއި ބަލިކަމެއް ދުރުކުރައްވައި كشف ކުރެއްވީމެވެ. އަދި އެކަލޭގެފާނުންގެ (ކުރީގެ) އެންމެހައި أهل ވެރިންނާއި އަދި އެޔާއެކު އޭގެއިތުރަށް އެހާވަރު ދެއްވީމެވެ. އެއީ ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ حضرة ންވާ رحمة އެއްގެގޮތުންނެވެ. އަދި تقوى ވެރި މާތް އަޅުވެރިންނަށްވާ عبرة އަކާއި وعظ އެއްގެގޮތުންނެވެ.

(84) ދެންފަހެ ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ އެކަލޭގެފާނަށް އިޖާބަކުރައްވައި އެކަލޭގެފާނަށް ޖެހިވަޑައިގެންފައިވާހާ އުނދަގުލަކާއި ބަލިކަމެއް ދުރުކުރައްވައި كشف ކުރެއްވީމެވެ. އަދި އެކަލޭގެފާނުންގެ (ކުރީގެ) އެންމެހައި أهل ވެރިންނާއި އަދި އެޔާއެކު އޭގެއިތުރަށް އެހާވަރު ދެއްވީމެވެ. އެއީ ތިމަންރަސްކަލާނގެ حضرة ންވާ رحمة އެއްގެގޮތުންނެވެ. އަދި تقوى ވެރި މާތް އަޅުވެރިންނަށްވާ عبرة އަކާއި وعظ އެއްގެގޮތުންނެވެ.
