being patient when tested,
being thankful when receiving a blessing, and
being repentant upon sinning”

Perhaps the restlessness comes from your hearts longing to be connected with it’s creator.

Bad Assumptions
Imām Al-Shāfi'ī (d.204H) was asked: "How does one assume badly of Allāh [sūw'u-dhan]. He replied:
الوسوسة، والخوف الدائم من وقوع مُصِيبَة، وترقب زوال النعمة، كلها من سوء الظن بالرحمن الرحيم
"By allowing waswasa [devilish whisperings] to fester inside of him; and having constant fear that a misfortune will strike him; and expecting blessings to be taken away from him. These are all from sūw'u-dhan of Al-Rahmān, Al-Rahīm."
