Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
"Friday prayer is one of the most important obligations in Islam, and one of the greatest gatherings of the Muslims. Gathering on Friday is more important and more obligatory than any other gathering apart from 'Arafah. Whoever neglects it, Allah will place a seal on his heart."

Narrated Abu Huraira RA:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "When honesty is lost, then wait for the Hour." It was asked, "How will honesty be lost, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?" He said, "When authority is given to those who do not deserve it, then wait for the Hour."
Sahih al-Bukhari 6496

Ibn al-Jawzi رحمه الله said:
"Every person should be aware of the importance and value of time. So that he wastes none and benefits from every moment of his life to draw nearer and closer to Alläh.
Start with the best of words (qawl) and actions ('amal) then the lesser in virtue and so forth."

Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه said:
"Verily with the good deed is:
• A brightness on the face
• A light in the heart
• A vastness in provision
• Strength in the body
• Love in the hearts of the creation
And verily with the evil deed is:
• Darkness on the face
• Blackness of the heart and grave
• Weakness in the body
• Deficiency in provision
• Hate in the hearts of the creation"

I texted Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril about the proper method of giving reminders to the brothers and sisters affected in #Morocco. He replied,
"Earthquakes can be a trial from Allah, a sign (ayah), a punishment, or mercy from Allah to hasten the punishment of the believers.
Some mufasaireen interpreted the verse,
قل هو القادر على أن يبعث عليكم عذابا من فوقكم
"Say, “He ˹alone˺ has the power to unleash upon you a torment from above" [6:65],
as earthquakes.
The way we take personal or widespread trials like that is to say it’s from our sins so we can repent, do istighfar fix and better ourselves and because Allah said
وما أصابكم من مصيبة فبما كسبت أيديكم ويعفو عن كثير
"Whatever affliction befalls you is because of what your own hands have committed. And He pardons much." [42:30],
And
"So We seized each ˹people˺ for their sin: against some of them We sent a storm of stones, some were overtaken by a ˹mighty˺ blast, some We caused the earth to swallow, and some We drowned. Allah would not have wronged them, but it was they who wronged themselves." [29:40]
It’s a duty to use that to encourage others to repent.
When it occurred during Umar’s [radhi Allahu Anh] time in Medina, he said if this occurs again I will no longer live with you here. He was encouraging them to repent, regret and turn to Allah.
However, for those Muslims who suffered, it’s our duty to speak good, give words of sabr, rajaa and hope to their loved ones, and make Duaa it was a forgiveness of Allah to their sins."
