Al-An'am 6:44
So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened to them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them to punishment, and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows.

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed: Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night. During (that stormy period) a man would be a Muslim in the morning and an unbeliever in the evening or he would be a believer in the evening and an unbeliever in the morning, and would sell his faith for worldly goods.

Akhawat, let our gatherings be fillah, yearning to earn His Pleasure: to socialise-to put a smile on the face of a sister, to exhort each other to sabr and to encourage each other to do good and to fear Allah and stay away from evil.
◽️Hadith on Dhikr: Allah boasts to angels of those who remember Him:
Mu’awiyah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came out to a gathering of his companions and he said, “Why are you sitting?” They said, “We are sitting to remember Allah and to praise him for guiding us to Islam and blessing us with it.” The Prophet said, “Only for Allah are you sitting for this?” They said, “By Allah, we are only sitting for this.” The Prophet said, “Verily, I did not ask you for an oath because I doubted you. Rather, Gabriel has told me that Allah Almighty is proud of you in front of the angels.”
Source: Sahih Muslim 2701
◽️Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Mu‘adh ibn Jabal would say to a man: Let us sit and believe and remember Allah, may He be exalted.
◽️Abu’l-Yaman narrated: Safwan told us, from Shurayh ibn ‘Ubayd, that ‘Abdullah ibn Rawahah would take one of his companions by the hand and say: Come, let us believe for an hour, for we are in a gathering of dhikr." (Majmu‘ al-Fatawa 7/225).
◽️Hadith on Mala’ikah: Angels report to Allah circles of remembrance:
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah Almighty has caravans of angels who have no other work but to follow gatherings of remembrance. When they find such gatherings in which there is remembrance, they sit with them and some of them surround the others with their wings until the space between them and the heavens is covered. When they disperse, they ascend to the heavens and Allah Almighty asks them, although He knows better than them: From where have you come? They say: We came from Your servants on earth who were glorifying You, declaring Your greatness and oneness, praising You and asking from You. Allah says: What do they ask from Me? They say: They ask for Your Paradise. Allah says: Have they seen My Paradise? They say no. Allah says: What if they were to see My Paradise? They say: They seek Your protection. Allah says: From what do they seek My protection? They say: From Your Hellfire, our Lord. Allah says: Have they seen My Hellfire? They say no. Allah says: What if they were to see My Hellfire? They say: They ask for Your forgiveness. Allah says: I will pardon them, give them what they request, and grant them protection. They say: Our Lord, there is one among them, a simple servant who happened to pass by and sit there alongside them. Allah says: I will also grant him pardon, for whoever sits with these fellows will not suffer misery.”
Source: Sahih al-Bukhari 6408, Sahih Muslim 2689
◽️Hadith on Dhikr: Angels send mercy, calm upon remembrance:
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No people gather to remember Allah Almighty but that the angels surround them, cover them with mercy, send tranquility upon them, and mention them to Allah among those near to Him.”

◽️We can even make our gatherings circles of Quran: the highest level of Dhikr of Allah
Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me,
"Recite Qur'an to me." I said to him. "Shall I recite (it) to you while it has been revealed to you?"
He said, "I like to hear it from another person."
Sahih al-Bukhari, 5056
Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah said in his book Al-Fataawa Al-Kubra:
“If a person recites the Quran and others are listening to him, then this is not disliked without any difference of opinion among the scholars; rather, this is desirable. The Companions used to do so, like Abu Moosa and others.”
◽️Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah also said in his book Majmoo' Al-Fataawa:
“When the Companions of the Prophet used to gather, they would order one of them to recite the Quran while the others would listen to him and ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab used to say to Abu Moosa Al-Ash'ari: “Remind us of our Lord,” so he would recite the Quran while they would listen to him.”

An Admonishment:
We can kid around, and have fun with our sisters, without indulging in Haram and without wasting long hours not doing anything fruitful or productive for the Sake of Allah.
◽️“There are two blessings which many people do not make the most of and thus lose out: good health and free time.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6412.
Sadly though, instead of making our gatherings blessed circles of remembrance and receiving the Mercy of Allah, we find ourselves perhaps paving our way to the Wrath of Allah by the evils of our tongues....
Backbiting, slandering, spreading rumours, exposing each other and revealing even own sins has aoo'dhubillah become a norm.
Where has our Hayah and shame gone when we talk about not only sisters in their absence, but even the brothers and others husbands are not safe from our tongues?!
Some may even read a book towards the end or at the beginning of the meeting, but the rest of the hours are spent wagging our tongues with little to no fear of Allah!!
Be honest with yourselves! Do you deem these gatherings to be blessed?! Are these circles of Dhikr upon whom the Angels descend??! Those who recieve the Mercy and Forgiveness of Allah
Have we forgotten the ugliness of our own nafs that we LOOK DOWN upon the sins of others?!

About the evil of revealing own sins to others:
"Speaking about your sin and flaunting it openly in front of your friends is haraam, and is a major sin. It is one of the ways of spreading immorality among the Muslims, encouraging evil and tempting others to do similar things. It also means that one does not take sin seriously and regards it as insignificant, and that the sinner is damaging his own reputation and exposing his honour to the slander of others. Islam seeks to put people off from doing such things in the strongest possible terms, as in the following hadeeth:
Abu Hurayrah said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: “All of my ummah will be forgiven except those who sin openly. It is a part of sinning openly when a man does something at night, then the following morning when Allaah has concealed his sin, he says, ‘O So and so, I did such and such last night,’ when all night his Lord has concealed him and the next morning he uncovers what Allaah had concealed.”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5721; Muslim, 2990)."

About the gravity of letting our tongues loose against our brothers/sisters:
◽️Al-Hujurat 49:12
O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful.
Abu Bakr Ibrahim Ali (Bakurube)
◽️Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“Do you know what ghibah (backbiting) is?”
They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.”
He said, “Saying something about your brother that he dislikes.”
It was said, “What if what I say about my brother is true?” He said, “If what you say is true then you have backbited about him, and if it is not true, then you have slandered him.” [Muslim]
◽️Ibn ‘Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by two graves and said,
“They are being punished, but they are not being punished for anything that was difficult to avoid. One of them used to walk about spreading malicious gossip (namimah), and the other used not to take precautions to avoid getting urine on himself when he urinated.”
Then he called for a green branch, which he split in two and planted a piece on each grave, and said, “May their torment be reduced so long as these do not dry out.”

Whoever wrongs a person by slandering him, backbiting about him or insulting him, then repents, Allah will accept his repentance, but if the one who was wronged finds out about that, he has the right to settle the score.
But if he slandered him or backbit about him and the person did not hear of that, then there are two views according to the scholars, both of which were narrated from Ahmad, the more correct of which is that he should not tell him that he spoke against him in his absence. It was said that he should rather speak well of him in his absence just as he spoke badly of him in his absence, as al-Hasan al-Basri said: the expiation for ghibah is to pray for forgiveness for the person about whom you backbit.” (Majmu’ al-Fatawa)

It is said that a servant will receive his book of deeds on the Day of Resurrection and he will not see any good in it. He will say: Where are my prayers? Where is my fasting? Where are my acts of obedience? It will be said: All of your good deeds have been lost because you were backbiting against people.

Turn back to Allah in repentance, and start afresh with new hopes and determination ♥ Let us aspire to be Ibaadu-Rahman, among the Muhsinin who remind others of Allah with our beautiful akhlaq, in the way we try to emulate Rasululllah ﷺ in every way of life, our humbleness, kindness and down to earth nature; our compassion and mercy towards the believers and Jama'ah while being strict and harsh against the disbelievers. Let's us strive to do whatever pleases Allah and steer away from what may displease Him.
◽️Az-Zumar 39:53-58
Say: "O ‘Ibâdî (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allâh: verily, Allâh forgives all sins. Truly He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islâmic Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him (in Islâm) before the torment comes upon you, (and) then you will not be helped.
And follow the best of that which is sent down to you from your Lord (i.e. this Qur’ân, do what it orders you to do and keep away from what it forbids), before the torment comes on you suddenly while you perceive not!

O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion (Islâm), Allâh will bring a people whom He will love and they will love Him; humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers, fighting in the Way of Allâh, and never fear of the blame of the blamers. That is the Grace of Allâh which He bestows on whom He wills. And Allâh is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.

Be the righteous friend:
The righteous friend reminds you of your Lord whenever you become heedless of His remembrance; he helps you and joins you when you are remembering your Lord.

This report clearly refers to the great rights that the Muslims have over one another, and urges them to show compassion to one another, be kind to one another and support one another in anything that is not sinful or disliked.
The righteous friend is the one who does not look for or seek out the faults of his brothers; rather he seeks excuses for them.
◽️Ibn Maazin said: The believer tries to find excuses for his brothers, whereas the hypocrite seeks out their faults.
◽️Al-Fudayl ibn ‘Iyaad said: Chivalry is to overlook the errors of your brothers.
Aadaab al-‘Ishrah (p. 1-3).

◽️His heart is free of rancour, and he offers sincere advice to his brothers and accepts it from them.
◽️He is easy-going with his brothers and does not go against them in matters that are right and proper; he refrains from criticizing them.
◽️Righteous friends love to visit one another, meet one another and be generous to one another; they are cheerful when they meet and shake hands warmly.
Muslim (2567) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “A man visited a brother of his in another town, and Allah sent an angel to wait for him on the road. When he came to him, he said: Where are you headed? He said: I am headed to a brother of mine in this town. He said: Have you done him any favour for which you hope to be recompensed? He said: No, but I love him for the sake of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted. He said: I am a messenger from Allah to you, to tell you that Allah loves you as you love him for His sake.”
