Muslim children need to grow up knowing they have a different belief than everyone else. It needs to be emphasized and stressed. Not downplayed and soft-pedaled as the Zanadiqah do.
The children need to be taught that our dīn is not equal to other ideologies. It's not equal to Kufr and Shirk. Our dīn and Tawhīd was sent to be supreme and above all.

Al-Bayyinah 98:6
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ فِى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمۡ شَرُّ ٱلۡبَرِيَّةِ
Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Quran and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.

A rough translation of part of a beautiful Urdu poem on Martyrdom.
May Allāh have mercy on every martyr of our Ummah, who carried the honor and glory of His Religion on their backs and severed their necks for His Pleasure.
May Allāh accept them among those who صدقوا ما عاهدوا الله عليه and make us among those who ينتظر وما بدلوا تبديلا.
