We have obligations and duties towards each other. Rights upon each other. Regardless of the behaviour of the other. Allah has already commanded how each of us should act in different scenarios, whether we be the ones oppressed and in need, or whether we are of those who are tested to see if we help our oppressed brethren or not.

Those of us who can help SHOULD help whether the other complain or not, whether they have sabr or not.

And the oppressed should always rely on Allah alone (and know that it is only Him who gives and Him who withholds) and have sabr and be in a state of shukr, contemplating on their situation irregardless whether their brethren helped them or turned their backs on them.

In whatever phase Allah puts us in, the question we always have to be asking ourselves is: Are we pleasing our Lord? Is this test/blessing drawing us closer to Him or are we being heedless ingrates? Are we doing the best for Allah and to our Ummah for His Sake? Are we being good representatives (vicegerents) of Allah?
