During the first world war in Australia there was a restriction of styles of clothing available to both men and women because of shortages in fabrics. Everyday dress became more sombre due to a lack of good quality dyes – and in any case, bright colours were seen to be too gay and frivolous.

The manufacture of ready-made clothing might have decreased during wartime, but there was an explosion in hand knitting for soldiers.

Thousands of women and schoolchildren knitted throughout the war. Over 1.3 million pairs of socks were sent overseas – often with a small personal note inside the sock informing the digger who had knitted the garment along with a brief message.

Knitting provided comfort not only to the men who received the garments but also for the women who knitted. It was a meditative way to pass the time and feel they were contributing to the war effort.

How rash, then presumptuous it is for you who have fled from sin to knowingly tread again in the dark and crooked alleyways of vice, where every doorway hides, the occasional temptation of the devil will restore you to sin.

It is unhappily true that in an instant one can pass from virtue to vice, but we do not pass from vice to virtue instantly. When God forbids a thing, he also forbids its near occasions.

I’m gonna say this again, and it’s gonna sound like I’m complaining because I am. WE NEVER WANTED TO BE STRONG INDEPENDENT CAREER WOMEN KAREN. We wanted to be hard working, loving, adoring, innocent and ignorant wives with sixteen children we only stopped having bc our bodies wouldn’t allow it any longer. Yes, I seethe. I mourn. Our men make next to nothing. They can’t support us and our children if they wanted to on a single salary; and most the rare ones that can think were gold diggers for expecting it, that were lazy, that staying home and having children means you’re worthless for not making kike paper id legitimately rather wipe excrement from Indian streets with. We were all of us without question cast into roles we were not made for.

Men, understand that your women have suffered too. That we have lost. We see your suffering, your struggle to be something (((society))) has long since stolen. Witness ours and let us build a world where this never happens again: where we are no longer duped by others’ foolish ambitions. Where the Jews can’t convince us anything, least of all Money and the most minute amount of recognition is worth sacrificing a glorious white family.
