She was a married virgin who became a nun. She and her husband professed a vow of chastity. She was the daughter of St. Bridget of Sweden. She helped her mother work for the Order of the Holy Savior. After her mother's death, she led the order. Legend says that every time that someone would try to defile her virginity, a deer would mysteriously appear and defend her. She is the patron saint against miscarriage.
