Blessed Zofia Czeska-Maciejowska
Widow and Founder
Died: 1650
She was a Polish widow and founder. She did not have any kids. After being widowed, she decided to spend her time helping orphaned girls. She established a home for poor and orphaned girls which became the seed of the school for girls system in Poland. She later founded the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She continued helping and educating poor girls and leading her congregation until her death.

When she was 12 years old, she ran away from her home and became a prostitute. Time came when she never asked for money as payment anymore. She went to Jerusalem to find more men. When she tried to enter a Church, an unseen force prevented her. This changed her totally. She did penance and sought absolution. She went to the desert, and lived as a hermit for 48 years. She is the patron of struggle against sexual temptations.
