She started receiving communion daily. She gave her money to the poor. She started having many visions of Christ. Her husband also got converted and both of them helped the sick. She is the patron of people with unfaithful spouses.

Five Spanish Franciscans, one brother and four priests, who preached to the natives of Georgia, USA, were killed in 1597. A baptized native, criticized for polygamy, led a group of unbaptized natives to kill the friars. SD Pedro de Corpa was killed on September 13, SD Blas de Rodriguez on September 16, SD Miguel de Añon and SD Antonio de Badajos (the only brother) on September 17, and SD Francisco de Verascola on September 18.

Mothers, concentrating on household duties, should work primarily in the home or in its immediate vicinity. It is an intolerable abuse, and to be abolished at all cost, for mothers on account of the father's low wage to be forced to engage in gainful occupations outside the home to the neglect of their proper cares and duties, especially the education of children. Every effort must therefore be made that fathers of families receive a wage large enough to meet ordinary family needs adequately.

My friend is going to deliver her baby soon. Please keep her and the husband in your prayers. Does anyone have any advice on helping new mothers out, especially postpartum?
