I love that my daughter views joining me in the kitchen with a sense of wonder. Some of my kids were participating in a local service project so we made several dozen cookies to share with the other volunteers. ✨

She was a Chilean teenager. After her father died, her family was reduced to poverty. They migrated to Argentina and her mother became the mistress of a man. She realized her mother’s sin. She offered herself to God in order for her mother to find the spirit of repentance and return to a life of holiness. One night, her mother’s lover beat her. Weakened by both the beating and her disease, she later died at the age of 13.

He accepted what patients would pay when they would, but never asked a fee from anyone except that they pray an Our Father for him.
