Hello everyone. My dear grandma, Mary Dolores, who I stay with and care for, and have been helping monetarily and physically for the past 9 years, was admitted to the hospital Saturday morning. Her health was just getting progressively worse here, and I wasn't fully aware of what was going on with her. She was suffering from high potassium and fighting an infection and needs a hysterectomy. She sounded better yesterday after receiving a blood transfusion, which she needed to get her vitals up, but I was informed today that they found a tumor they have to biopsy.
My grama was always there for me and my sister growing up, and I would interact and see her more than my mom. Being the only man on my moms side of the family I decided to stay with her and help. She is a very important person in my life and I appreciate any prayers from the community.
Thank you, and God bless you all.

Ordo amoris, or the order of affections, is the order of priorities we have: what is most important and what is least important:
Those who are closer to you deserve a more intense love
St. Thomas Aquinas writes:
>Accordingly we must say that friendship among blood relations is based upon their connection by natural origin, the friendship of fellow-citizens on their civic fellowship, and the friendship of those who are fighting side by side on the comradeship of battle. Wherefore in matters pertaining to nature we should love our kindred most, in matters concerning relations between citizens, we should prefer our fellow-citizens, and on the battlefield our fellow-soldiers. Hence the Philosopher says (Ethic. ix, 2) that “it is our duty to render to each class of people such respect as is natural and appropriate.“
Each friendship deserves priority in the matters that pertain specifically to them
>If however we compare union with union, it is evident that the union arising from natural origin is prior to, and more stable than, all others, because it is something affecting the very substance, whereas other unions supervene and may cease altogether. Therefore the friendship of kindred is more stable, while other friendships may be stronger in respect of that which is proper to each of them.
