Martin Sellner, the head of the far-right Identitarian Movement in Europe who champions mass deportations under a plan he calls “re-migration,” commented a day later on X/Twitter: The move should be prevented, as “the risk of a toothless party youth” is too great. The Junge Alternative is the “spark of life of the AfD,” he wrote.

The Junge Alternative is an organization in which Hitler-style side-partings, Nazi rhetoric, and combat classes are commonplace. Among its members are activists who have attended the annual neo-Nazi gathering “Day of Honor” in Budapest or received paramilitary training with neo-Nazis in Ukraine.

Under the new proposals, all party members under the age of 36 would automatically become members of a new youth organization, likely called “Junge Patrioten” – the Young Patriots. As a formal part of the party, it would be harder to ban under German law than the Junge Alternative, which is merely registered as an association and enjoys fewer protections under the constitution.

Yet despite the proposal, the party’s federal committee has not technically distanced itself from the Junge Alternative. It is also not clear how the Junge Patrioten would be more moderate than their successor organization.

🇦🇿 — The Azerbaijani State Security Service (DTX) has foiled a plot to assassinate a senior official in Azerbaijan's Jewish community, arresting two suspects — one Azerbaijani and one Georgian citizen.

Sources within the Jewish community claim that Iran was behind the attempted assassination.

The Guardian explains how the town got its name:

"Documents show the village's original name was Jews' Hill Camp and that the Kill Jews name dates from 1627. A 1492 Spanish edict ordered Jews to become Catholics or flee the country, and those who refused faced the Spanish inquisition, with many burned at the stake.

The BBC reports that another city in Spain is called Valle de Matamoros or "Kill the Moors Valley." That city has no plans to change its name.

We should also note that Mexico has a sizable city with the name "Matamoros."

🇷🇴🗳⚡️ On the topic of the Romanian presidential elections, I want to remind the readers that: THE ELECTIONS HAVE NOT BEEN SCHEDULED!!

Yes, the coalition government proposed two sets of dates but the Romanian government hasn't passed an ordinance/an act that would actually schedule the elections per se.

As a matter of fact, PSD spokesman, Lucian Romașcanu's original idea of postponing the elections until all lawsuits started by Călin Georgescu's lawyers end with definitive court rulings is still very much a possibility.

As things stand today, the elections might not happen at all in May 2025 as the government said they will, they could happen in autumn, or in the winter, or in 2026 or even later than that.

There is absolutely zero interest and initiative for the current administration to organise new elections because they will lose them just like the previous ones and they will try to buy as much time as possible to improve their image hoping that people will forget about Georgescu and their failings.

The words that are coming out of the mouths of Marcel Ciolacu (him especially) and others in the government and close to him, are not to be trusted and interpreted very carefully.

This is how PSD has been operating for decades. They say something, then stop talking about it for a certain period of time and when they deem enough time has passed, end up doing the opposite or nothing at all. Don't be surprised when the government raises the income tax, the value added tax (VAT) and implements a Western European progressive style of taxation, even though Ciolacu has given hundreds of assurances that he will not do it. He will and he won't have a bit of remorse for lying in everyone's faces.
