German Nationalist Politician Slammed for ‘Dancing’ on Holocaust memorial

Israel’s ambassador to Berlin Ron Prosor has accused Alternative for Germany (AfD) member Holger Winterstein of bringing “shame on himself and his party” after footage of him apparently dancing on a Holocaust memorial appeared on social media.

The AfD have insisted they will take action over his “extremely disrespectful behavior” at the Berlin memorial.

The party’s leader in Winterstein’s state of Thuringia - Bjoern Hoecke - called the memorial a “monument of shame” in 2018, but his party refused to expel him after a tribunal.
