🔶️ Finland will completely close its border with Russia for two weeks after a surge of asylum seekers crossing the frontier, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo announced Tuesday.
🔶️ “This is Russia’s influence activity, and we do not accept that,” Orpo said at a press conference, according to Finnish news outlet Helsingin Sanomat. The two-week border closure will take effect between Wednesday and Thursday night and will end on December 13, the paper reported.

— As Venezuela gets ready to invade Guyana (a movement that likely would require Venezuelans to cross Brazil), here is what you need to know:
➡️ Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a staunch ally of Nicolas Maduro, likely would not formally approve the safe passage of Venezuelan troops, BUT, he would just look to the other side, and affirms he "now nothing" about that.
➡️ By doing that, Lula would not actively take a side but just allow his Venezuelan ally to reach his target: Essequibo, a region with one of the largest oil reserves in the world.
Basically Lula would be for Venezuela what Lukashenko is for Russia.

Panama’s government said it will shut a giant copper mine owned by First Quantum Minerals Ltd., damping hopes that the company might be able to reach a new deal to keep operating.
Authorities will start “the transition process for the orderly and safe closure of the mine,” President Laurentino Cortizo said in a post on X Tuesday, after the nation’s supreme court ruled against the miner.
The move will deprive the government of one of its biggest sources of revenue and increases the chances of a legal battle between the Canadian miner and Panama in international arbitration. Cortizo didn’t say how long the process might take.
On Tuesday, the court ruled against a law approving a contract, sealing the doom of an operation that produces more than 1 per cent of global copper output.
