🇹🇼🪖📹 — On today, May 12, 2025, ROC Armed Forces made the HIMARS debut in Taiwan, as part of development of next-generation strike capabilities for ROC Army while tensions with PRC grows

ROC blasted 7x U.S.-made M30/M31 rockets with ranges of 70-94 km were fired from HIMARS launchers across the sea in a test that basically is a warning to the Beijing authorities

According to the island's government, the objective is to prepare its forces to counter a possible Communist aggression.

According to the ROC's defense doctrine, the number one priority is to prevent the approach of PLA Navy landing ships and paratrooper assault planes - something that requires the use of anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles - with the number two priority being to attack and destroy the "beachheads" formed by China in the event of a successful landing.

It's also noteworthy that HIMARS rockets could reach Mainland China

Taipei had acquired 29 launchers from the United States and has already received the first 11.
