🇺🇸🪖 Preparations for the massive military parade in Washington, D.C. for the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army on June 14th, which also happens to be the 79th birthday of President Donald J. Trump, are in full-swing this week at Fort Cavazos in Killeen, Texas. As soldiers with the 1st Cavalry Division, III Armored Corps were seen loading 28 M1126 Strykers, 28 M2A3 “Bradley” Infantry Fighting Vehicles, 28 M1A2 SEPv3 “Abrams” Main Battle Tanks, and 7 M109A7 “Paladin” Self-Propelled Howitzers onto railcars at Fort Cavazos, bound for Washington.

Next month’s parade in D.C. is expected to be the biggest and most expensive military parade in the nation’s capital city since the National Victory Celebration on June 8, 1991, which celebrated the conclusion of the Gulf War, with cost estimates for the parade placing it between $35-45 million according to officials at the Pentagon. The parade will also be the first to feature tracked-armored vehicles, like tanks, on the streets of Washington, D.C. in decades, with the Department of Defense pledging to place steel plates on roads while also equipping the vehicles with track-pads to prevent damage to roads and bridges along the parade route, one of the major concerns which was raised by city officials in both Washington and Arlington, Virginia.
