🇮🇱🇮🇷 Tankers on fire after colliding in the Strait of Hormuz

A huge fire has developed following the collision of two tankers close to the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz.

The accident follows warnings yesterday of ‘electronic interference’ in the region from the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) which, it said, was affecting ships and safe navigation in the Arabian Gulf.

The five-year-old Front Eagle, 300,000 dwt. is understood to have collided with the 165,000dwt Adalynn, built in 2002 and managed by Mumbai-based Oceanpack Ship Management. Reports indicate that the collision occurred in the busy waters off the coast of Fujairah in the early hours of this morning.

Frontline, owner of the VLCC which is managed by Anglo-Eastern, has stated that all crew members aboard the vessel are safe.

“Following the incident immediate action was taken to extinguish a fire on deck of the Front Eagle. We are aware of reports of a fire onboard the Adalynn following the collision. Frontline is closely monitoring the situation and is cooperating fully with the relevant authorities as emergency response efforts continue,” Frontline said.

Ambrey, a British security firm, stated earlier that the collision was not thought to be related to current hostilities between Iran, on the northern side of the Strait, and Israel. Meanwhile experts said it was too early to say whether the accident might have resulted from the ‘electronic interference’ to which the UKMTO referred yesterday.

🇮🇱🇮🇷 Warning to ships of electronic interference in the Strait of Hormuz

As the conflict between Israel and Iran conflict continues into its fourth day the UKMTO has warning shipping of AIS jamming in the Strait of Hormuz.

On Monday the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said it had received multiple reports, confirmed by AIS monitoring, of increased electronic interference with vessels in the Gulf and the Straits of Hormuz.

“Whilst the level of electronic interference continues to rise across the wider region, the levels and intensity inside the Gulf are having a significant impact on vessels positional reporting through automated systems (AIS),” UKMTO said.

“Vessels are advised to transit with caution and continue to report incidents of electronic interference to the UKMTO.”

🇮🇱🇺🇸🇮🇷 — The USS Nimitz is expected to reach the Sea of Oman within 4–5 days if moving at 30 knots.

➡️However, based on its current trajectory and speed over the past 24 hours (9 knots = 400 km/day), with 5,550 km remaining, it could take approximately 13 days to arrive.

☢️☢️ Nuclear risks grow as new arms race looms - STOCKHOLM INTERNATIONAL PEACE RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Nearly all of the nine nuclear-armed states—the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) and Israel—continued intensive nuclear modernization programmes in 2024, upgrading existing weapons and adding newer versions.

Of the total global inventory of an estimated 12 241 warheads in January 2025, about 9614 were in military stockpiles for potential use (see the table below). An estimated 3912 of those warheads were deployed with missiles and aircraft and the rest were in central storage. Around 2100 of the deployed warheads were kept in a state of high operational alert on ballistic missiles. Nearly all of these warheads belonged to Russia or the USA, but China may now keep some warheads on missiles during peacetime.

Russia and the USA together possess around 90 per cent of all nuclear weapons.

SIPRI estimates that China now has at least 600 nuclear warheads. China’s nuclear arsenal is growing faster than any other country’s, by about 100 new warheads a year since 2023. By January 2025, China had completed or was close to completing around 350 new ICBM silos in three large desert fields in the north of the country and three mountainous areas in the east. Depending on how it decides to structure its forces, China could potentially have at least as many ICBMs as either Russia or the USA by the turn of the decade. Yet even if China reaches the maximum projected number of 1500 warheads by 2035, that will still amount to only about one third of each of the current Russian and US nuclear stockpiles.

🇺🇸🇮🇱🇮🇷❗️ — US President Donald Trump claims "we" (US-Israel?) have air dominance over Iranian skies

'We' now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran. Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured “stuff.”

Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.
