📝 Arnaud Bertrand: There are indeed more and more reports that China may be undergoing a pretty major shift and is now getting more serious in supplying "friendly countries" with serious defense systems.
Heck China itself said so, with the defense ministry recently saying that "China is willing to share military equipment achievements with friendly countries", which is a pretty clear statement.
Apparently they've reportedly already supplied Iran with advanced HQ-9B air defence batteries last month to protect itself against future Israeli attacks. And maybe now surface-to-surface ballistic missiles
This may signal that China is now starting to play a game it always tried to avoid. The Iran attacks may have convinced them that given the current context, when push comes to shove, countries need to know their partners can offer credible deterrence against military aggression.
And it seems to be credible indeed, given Israel's "alarm" at the news

'The fact we lost territory so fast, so rapidly, is because we are not adjusting to Russian tactics,' said Capt. Artem Kulachevich, 40, a drone commander in the 82nd Brigade. The Russian troops who launched the surprise assault this week were unskilled, he said, but they got past more experienced Ukrainian soldiers whose reconnaissance teams failed to detect them in tree lines...
Volodymyr, 49, a battalion commander, said his brigade has tried to hold this key part of the front line by maintaining it as “a kill zone” that protects infantry by killing the foot soldiers before they reach Ukrainian positions.
But his most urgent need, he said, is people, and as he waits for recruits, Russia is staging new offensives...
Vitalii, 46, a unit commander in the battalion, said he was hit last week by a Russian drone but had the shrapnel removed and returned to the fight because he feared abandoning his troops. His men are holding the line south of Pokrovsk, which pushed Russia to find weaknesses elsewhere. The fight has left his soldiers exhausted and in desperate need of reinforcements they just don’t have.
'We lack people,' he said, but the brigade still manages to kill about 30 Russian troops per day. If Ukraine cedes that land, he said, Russia will use the people and resources from the occupied land 'to fight against Ukraine.'
Retreat, he added, is not an option."

Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief, Alexandr Syrsky, sent three brigades, the 12th "Azov", the 92nd and 33rd in addition to 5 battalions from three other brigades.
This will likely lead to the abandonment of the Bryansk incursion and weakened other sectors of the frontline such as east of Kupiansk near the town of Petropavlovka, where Russia captured a series of trenches and dugouts which resisted for 12+ months nonstop bombardment and attacks.
However, the Donetsk military administration expects the situation to get worse in the oblast as it has given new evacuation orders for about 38 settlements, including the major cities of Druzhkovka and Alexeyevo-Druzhkovka.

⚡️⚡️⚡️Black Sea Standoff: Russia’s Drone Strike and Ukraine’s Chilling Warning
At the end of July, Russian forces reportedly carried out a special operation near Odesa, striking a vessel carrying military cargo with an unmanned boat. Moscow called the mission a success.
But Kyiv responded the very next day with a stark threat: repeat such strikes, and Russia’s merchant fleet will be “buried.”
Days later, a Russian tanker Anna heading to the Bosphorus was shadowed by three Ukrainian sea drones. They didn’t attack. Instead, the silent escort looked more like a warning shot — a demonstration that Ukraine can strike, but chose not to.
The tanker made it through. Yet, almost immediately, Russia’s Black Sea Fleet quietly shelved its own naval drone programs, declaring there was “no need” for them. Was this sudden retreat a coincidence — or proof that Kyiv’s message hit its mark?
The Black Sea has become not just a frontline, but a chessboard of threats and signals. And every move now matters.

Coordination meeting this morning with President Trump, President Zelensky, and my European partners following the meeting between President Trump and President Putin in Alaska.
At the conclusion of this meeting, we continued our discussions with my European counterparts. We are aligned in stating:
→ that it is essential to continue supporting Ukraine and to maintain pressure on Russia as long as its war of aggression continues and until a solid and lasting peace, respectful of Ukraine’s rights, has been established;
→ that any lasting peace must be accompanied by unwavering security guarantees. I welcome, in this regard, the readiness of the United States to contribute. We will work on this with them and with all our partners in the Coalition of the Willing, with whom we will meet again soon, to make concrete progress. It will also be essential to draw all the lessons from the past 30 years, in particular from Russia’s well-established tendency not to honor its own commitments.
We will continue to work closely with POTUS Donald Trump and President Zelenskyy to safeguard our interests in a spirit of unity and responsibility.
