As a preemptive measure to protect from the Ragasa Super Typhoon, authorities in Hong Kong have decided to stop receiving flights for 36 hours starting on Tuesday.

This is the longest shutdown of Hong Kong's International Airport in history, surpassing the 20 hour shutdown during the 2023 Saola Typhoon, also a category 5 storm.

Elsewhere, Chinese authorities in Shenzen are preparing for tsunamis and flooding. Residents in coastal cities flocked to stock up on food, water & other essential items leaving stores empty.
