According to sources from NBC News, he stated that the situation for Ukrainian troops is critical and that Russia is increasing the scale and pace of air strikes, maintaining the capability to conduct combat operations indefinitely.

According to sources, Driscoll noted that Ukraine's situation will worsen, and therefore, in his opinion, it is better to consider peace agreements now, while the country is not in an even weaker position.

The American delegation also reported that the US defense industry will not be able to continue supplying weapons and air defense systems in volumes necessary to protect Ukrainian infrastructure and population.

It is reported that these statements were made after Driscoll presented the Ukrainian side with a Washington-backed peace plan, which was perceived in Kyiv as a concession to Moscow. One source told the publication: "The message was roughly this — you are losing, and you need to accept this deal."
