🇷🇺 🇺🇦 🇵🇱 🇭🇺 🇷🇴 #Russian ex-president/prime minster, current deputy chairman of Russia's security council right under #Putin, Dmitry Medvedev, while speaking at the World Youth Festival in #Krasnodar, unveiled a map of what has described as a new reality, showing #Ukraine divided up amongst #Romania, #Poland, #Hungary, and #Russia, leaving only #Kyiv as Ukrainian territory.
“One of Ukraine’s former leaders said at some point that Ukraine is not Russia. That concept needs to disappear forever. Ukraine is definitely Russia,” #Medvedev stated.
How “official” this map is or plans to achieve these objectives remain unclear and have never been stated before in any official capacity.
While the idea of taking over Ukraine has been reiterated several times amongst Russia military objectives, they have never included splitting up land with neighboring countries (and notably not #Belarus). Via theatlasnews.co

🇨🇱 Chile wants 3 or 4 new lithium projects running in 2026, finance minister says
Chile wants to have three or four new lithium projects operational by 2026, the country's Minister of Finance Mario Marcel said on Saturday.
Chile - the world's largest copper producer and the second-largest producer of lithium - initiated a policy last year to increase state control of the strategic metal needed in batteries for electric vehicles.
Marcel spoke following a meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, who has been touring the country.
There are currently only two producers of lithium in Chile - Albemarle and SQM - with investors still waiting for the left-wing government of President Gabriel Boric to define its national lithium strategy as it seeks public-private partnerships to develop its lithium salt flats.

Thierry Breton, the European industry commissioner, will lay out proposals to encourage EU countries to buy more weapons together from European companies, and to help such firms increase production capacity, according to EU officials.
"We need to change the paradigm and move into war economy mode. This also means that the European defence industry must take more risks, with our support," said Breton, previewing the package.
EU officials argue purely national efforts are less efficient and want EU bodies to play a greater role in defence industrial policy.
Analysts say the war has made clear that European industry was ill-prepared for some major challenges, such as a sudden surge in demand for large amounts of artillery ammunition.
Another proposal would allow the EU to compel European weapons firms to prioritise European orders in times of crisis.

"Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC, 台積電) stock yesterday rose to its highest-ever level, tracking a global rally in chip stocks fueled by optimism about artificial intelligence (AI) and helping the TAIEX add nearly 2 percent.
The world’s top chip foundry increased 5.22 percent to close at NT$725 in Taipei trading, a record since its stock listing in 1994. The surge lifted its market capitalization to US$597 billion, one step closer to reclaiming a spot in the world’s 10 most valuable companies.
TSMC has soared more than 22 percent so far this year, helping the local benchmark TAIEX also reach a record high, ending up 1.95 percent at 19,305.31 yesterday, Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) data showed."

Panama's electoral court on Monday decided to annul former President Ricardo Martinelli's candidacy in the May 2024 presidential election, citing his inability to run due to a nearly 11-year prison sentence for money laundering.
Panama's constitution bars anyone sentenced to a prison term of five years or more from serving as president.
Most polls before Monday's court ruling positioned Martinelli as the favorite to win the election.
The electoral court said his running mate Jose Raul Mulino will now appear in the ballot as presidential candidate for Martinelli's political party.
